As part of the externalizing therapy I am undergoing at the moment with my counsellor, I have to think about my fear as a separate entity and "talk" to it. My counsellor suggested I write to it, telling it how I can beat it and that is what I have done. If anyone would like to read it I will post it, but maybe it is an idea for everyone to try, I know it sounds silly and odd, but it can be helpful.
