I was just curious to see who exercises on this site. I was also wondering what everyone did. I was lifting weights, but now I'm starting cardio. Yuck. I'm going to start a spin class tomorrow. It's on a bike where you do a bunch of different things. I think they have a black light going and music. I think that that would be better than walking on a treadmill all of the time. That is so boring to me. I want to get in shape once in for all, but it's so hard to get motivated. Anyone else agree?

i'm very unmotivated when it comes to exercise.... the only time i'd exericse is when the anorexia was in full grasp and i'd thort i'd eaten so much i needed to burn it off....

i know that exercise is good for you in many ways (not just physical ways) so it wud be great if u cud find something u enjoy and therefore u';d be more likely to stick to it!

I try lol. I ride my bike (occasionally) and swim (also occasionally). I used to do Yoga at home but I don't have space any more

Hey! I've excercised on and off my whole life, and of course I've been much more home ridden when my emetophobia's bad. At my best, I played soccer and did track and cross country, as well as tennis. (Wow, looking back I guessI used to be pretty active haha). My favourite excercise right now is jogging- it's hard for eme to go to the gym but easy enough to step out for a 20 minute run. I just plug in my ipod and it feels great.

Spinning class sounds like fun, I think it's pretty popular. I hope you enjoy it!

One more thing, supposedly working out is really good for depression and anxiety. It makes your body more immune to adrenaline, which is what triggers panic attacks. So it's always a good idea to excercise when possible. Altough it's MUCH easier said than done!

I love exercising. I normally never did muchwhen I was residing in California, because the scenery is clustered with towering buildings, cars, traffic, etc. Now in Florida I take advantage of the wildlife and freedom. I jog a lot. In California I hiked every weekend. I canoe down the rivers here, and go bike riding in a summar rain shower. Excercising is great, and when I do it I feel the harmful toxins just escape my body when I sweat. Hot, sticky, and tiring, but towards the end of the day you feel so exhausted, but good. And that's encouraging. ^_^;v I also do it to relieve my depression, and it works wonders on anxiety. Edited by: peachfeet

I actually just got through running a mile on my treadmill! I used to never exercise until about 4 years ago. Now, I try to walk/run at least 3 times per week for at least a mile each time. I feel so much better about myself when I do it. I used to go to our local YMCA and work out, but now I don't have time to do that. In the Spring and Fall, I do my exercising outside, but it is so hot here now I would much rather be inside where it is cool!

My exercise consistes of chasing my four-year-old around and six month old puppy. I would love to get into a belly-dancing class or something though. I've tried yoga when i was pregnant (yeah, like I can get that leg over my head, crazy lady, I can't even see my feet)....and a while back a bought a Pilates video. Now, THAT, was interesting. It's not that it's hurts, but it is so hard to keep up. Breathe in while doing this, and breathe out while doing that, and don't forget to flex your power house! HOLY! I used to go to the gym years ago, and I loved it, so I would liek to try to get into something for me. For me to enjoy.

fall for some reason though, exercise makes things worse for
me... like it makes me more nervous, i think because i push
myself too hard sometimes then i feel sick... o well, its healthy i can
deal with it..

Thinking over the winter I will tone up. Seeing a commercial of Gunner's exercises with the ball and dvd's I thought hey there I go. I ordered the kit that cost me over a hundred. I did it for 5 days, the first time it almost killed me! Next morning I could hardly move! The ball is sitting on my rocking chair staring at me, I always say tomorrow I will do it but I don't. I think I need motivation.
How long does it take to see you stomach get flatter, your legs toned, and your butt looking perfect like when you were a teenager. I guess with me I expect it now.

Exercising really makes your body more immune to adrenaline? That makes sense though. Lifting weights relaxes me, but cardio makes me a little nervous. The thing is is that I haven't exercised in such a long time, by doing cardio, my heart gets really going and sometimes it's hard to tell your brain that it's just exercise and not a panic attack. Does anyone understand where I'm coming from? It's kind of hard to explain. Anyway, I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes yesterday. I sweated a lot which was good, but I'm just not used to it. I'm supposed to go to that spinning class tonight. I wonder how hard it is? Anyone been to one?

I used to do spinning - it's as easy or hard as you make it. I found it hard as I knew the teacher and he used to push me to go faster!

I don't do any excercise now really - I have a full and a part time job which doesn't leave me much time to do anything else......

I have been walking 3 miles a day, seven days a week for about a year and half now. I recently cut the walks down to 6 days a week because I go to a yoga class on Tuesdays.

I had purchased a treadmill initially and soon found out that I really liked walking a lot more when I was outisde. I live in Southern California so the weather is always just fine for a walk.

I've been trying to get back into exercising recently. I've started
doing pilates and I like them a lot. Although I discovered you have to
be careful to not over do it starting out because they made my legs and
stomach hurt so bad the first time.

Ontario, you are too funny!!!

Luckistar - Wow...Good for you. You were walking that much 7 days a week? How did you get the motivation to do that? You must be in really good shape. Yoga's pretty relaxing. I didn't exercise yesterday, but today I'm doing either cardio or weight training or both. Or maybe the spin class today. I really want to try it.
