I'm late for my period. I hate this.

I was supposed to get it today but I didn't. I know one day does't sound like a long time, but in the 10 years I've had my period ( and been on the pill) I have NEVER been late, my body is like freaking clockwork, its actually scarey.

I know Im being paraniod.. we use condoms ( like 95% of the time) and I take the pill every night, so I know I can't be pregnant.well, pretty darn sure. I know there is always a chance, even when you are as safe as possible.

I actually bought a home test tonight so i wouldnt be up all night worrrying and of course its negative. I just hate it when my body does this..

heres crossing my fingers that it will come tommorow..!

have you guys ever been a little bit, or alot late? what was the reason?

It sounds like you guys are being safe and responsible, that it great!!!! I guess after 10 yrs of running like clockwork, you body decided to go off track a little, lol. As long as the test came back negative, I would try not to worry. Now, if you werent being responsible with the birth control, then I might would think pregnancy was a possibility. If you dont start in a few days, then maybe I would give my doctor a call and tell him/her what is going on. I was on the pill after my son was born (5 yrs ago) and I never had a period. That did freak me out the first time it happened. My doc told me that some women just dont have one while on the pill. However, when I took them before I started trying to have my son, I had my period every month like clockwork. I guess our bodies change .............. what works well for so long, may all the sudden quit working.

Anywho ........

Keep us posted.

Have you lost weight lately? I mean ALOT of weight? I remember when I used to weigh 105 pounds I like NEVER got my period. Anyway I've never gotten my period "like clockwork" it just sort of comes in the middle of the month whenever it wants. I'm sure that you'll be fine.

I have been up to 11 days late before, and it was caused from stress. I have also been late from having a yeast infection. I have never really had the "clockwork" periods though. I am usually 29-31 days. So...when I hit day 32, I know that my hormones are out of whack from stress or something of that nature. Good luck! Charlotte

It sounds like you're being safe, so I'm sure you probably don't have much to worry about. I would suggesting re-testing in a few days if your period doesn't show up. I hope everything works out fine for you.

I have never been on the pill before, and my periods usually come about
every 28 to 29 days. I have been as early as one week (that was a
blessing...it was the weekend before my prom) and as late as 9
days (once from stress, and once from having strep throat). I
know you said you are like clock work, and thats lucky for you....but
sometimes our bodies are a little "off". The test came back
negative, and it sounds like you are smart about using
protection. I wouldn't worry yet. Give it a few more days
to show its face. Carrie

I am in a similar situation. I am currently 11 days late for my period. I have a history of irregular periods but they have been pretty regular recently, so I don't know why I'm so late. I've taken 2 negative pregnancy tests. I have contacted my doctor but he is on vacation until 7/5/05 and they can't give me any advice until then!
