For anyone who has come off of birth control pills - how long until you started your next period? I should have started today, but so far there isn't even a hint that I am going to. I know it is different for everyone, but I don't know what to do. My husband and I haven't been trying for a baby yet - but we haven't been not trying either. There is a slight possibility that I may have already gotten pregnant, but I don't want to go waste a bunch of money on tests if most people don't have a period for a few months anyways. Any advice?

Well, it is possible that your body is just adjusting to the change, but then preganacy is a posibility to. If you dont get your period in a week or so, and you were to call your doctors office about it, they would probally tell you to take a home pregnancy test, just to be sure. If you do decide to take a test, get one of those with two on it, so if it happens again, you already have one.

I am a few days late in replying to this, you could have already started by now.

    Keep us posted.

Still nothing. I started to spot really lightly, but then nothing. I was going to wait through the weekend, and if I still haven't started, go ahead and get a test. The thing that sucks is I'm going to Disneyland next weekend and all of those rides say not to go on if your pregnant. Or if I'm not pregnant, I would hate for my period to start while I'm there - that would be miserable. Oh well, I guess I just have to wait and see.

Maybe at this point you should go get the test just for peace of mind to know what is going on. If it's positive, well that's quick, but GREAT! If it's negative then you know that your body is just out of wack and might take some time to get itself back on it's natural cycle.

Not to sound to personal or gross but, how do your breasts feel? Are then tender like before you menstrate or are they more tingley? That was the first give away for me when I was first pregnant-my breasts started changing.

Well, I took a test and it was a no. I guess it must just be an adjustment period.

swiftette - I don't feel any different there. I usually don't get much if any tenderness during my period anyway. I have had some crampy pains, but that could also be IBS. I guess I just have to wait and see.

It's been so long since I came off the pill-I really can't remember when my body adjusted to going back to it's own biological schedual.

I dont know this for sure, but I think the no riding this ride if you are pregnant rule is for when you are further along than a few weeks. Although, I know most of us would not want to risk it anyway. If you havent started like a day or two before your trip call and ask your doctor if they will do a blood test for pregnancy. Then you really will know for sure. I believe the blood test can pick up the pregnancy hormone as early as a week pregnant. Then atleast you would know what all you can do on your trip.

So I have been kind of spotting for the last 4 days or so, but then nothing. Wouldn't I have just started by now? I have had cases of pretty nasty cramps but they will only last for like 20 minutes then they are gone too. I think I will call my doctor today and see what she thinks. I took one pregnancy test that was negative, but maybe I need to take another one? Sometimes I am sure it's coming, but the majority of the time I don't see any signs. I guess what really bothers me is the uncertainty. I would be okay with either outcome.
