Can it be noro without d*?

My son started v* last night, 24 hours go. Stopped this morning around 4:30. Gradually felt better all day and eating anything I will allow. Has not had d* … can i assume he will not or should I still expect it? I am not sending the boys to school tomorrow either way.

Yes. From what I can remember, I seldom had d with noro.

Never get it with noro. I've apparently just come down with it today and, so far, the trend continues (*knock wood*).

interesting, but can't it also present as d and n but without v? pretty sure i had that two years ago when everyone else in the house had it all. that would be my preferred method!

Yes, it can go both ways. It is different for everyone.

Yes. Noro can be v*, d*, both or asymptomatic.

The good thing about noro without the d* is that Noro D* actually contains way more viral particles than Noro V* so it's easier to get rid of the viral particles because there are fewer and so it's not as likely to spread! (with thorough cleaning)

Unfortunately for us, he got the D on Monday morning, when he was supposed to be going back to school. He still pees at night so wears a pull up to bed (he is 6) and woke up calling for us because he had an accident. But the D stopped by noon, and no other accidents. Still eating and drinking fine, returned to school today! Oh, and I am pretty sure I got it, but it was only D early Monday morning and some N all day Monday, Tuesday pretty much back to normal.

Thanks. I am really hoping it was noro, and not anxiety and meds causing it. No way to know for sure, I guess, but if I assume it was, hopefully it will cause less anxiety for the rest of this season!
