Default I'm curious about a couple of things...any answers?

    hey guys,

So I've had a couple of questions in my head recently about SVs and was wondering if anyone on here had any answers or theories.

    1) I got sick last year with something and I wasn't sure what it was. When I woke up that morning my stomach didn't feel right, but it went away and I went on to work, ate lunch, and then had a frozen chicken that I had defrosted for dinner. Three hours later (9PM), I got horrible n* and almost constant d* until 10AM the next morning. At around 7AM I dry heaved twice but nothing happened. By 10AM I was feeling better (although I later developed IBS) Does anyone have any ideas on what I may have had? ALthough I've always had emet, this is what has made it spiral out of control.

    2) I used to live in a warmer climate where there was barely a winter while I was growing up and through college. Then I moved to a colder climate for the last 4 years. I've never had as much problems with my stomach each year as I have had since moving up here. Could it be the colder climate that is coinciding with my increased stomach problems? Or is it just a coincidence as I get older (I'm 27; havent v* since I was 11--thank the Lord)

Well in answer to your first question, that is almost identical to when I had food poisoning. I had bad d* from 10pm until mid morning the next morning, and v* twice, once at 5-6am and once a couple hrs later. It was pretty mild as fp goes and def sounds like what I had. I was feeling good by noon the day after it started, so about 14 hrs total.

Question two- not sure. You may have developed food intolerances, or just had an increase in anxiety as you've gotten older. Mine has gotten worse in the past 4 yrs too, and I know a big part of it is just the stresses of life have increased.

It could be sv or fp. However, thankfully, it is over whatever it was. I suppose it doesn't matter now you are well. Perhaps you have changed your diet since moving north. Maybe you were eating a lot more fresh fruits and vegetables when you lived in a warmer climate. If you can, try to start eating the foods you ate before even if they are a tad more expensive now you live where they are less common.

Thanks guys! Grace, yes it really doesn't matter now that I'm better, but I've been curious for some time now what it was I had and was wondering if anyone might have some insight into it. I don't think I've been eating anything particularly different, but I may have developed some sort of food intolerance I suppose. It's just curious that the only times since I was 11 (I'm 27 now) that I have been n* and almost v* sick have been while I've been either living or visiting up north, so I wondered if there was a connection somehow.
