Hello Emetophobes. So I have suffered with emetophobia my whole life, accompanied by crippling anxiety that stops me from doing things like going to college, seeing friends, going on family outings etc... Anyway, lately I've been looking into antidepressant drugs and read that they can help alleviate the symptoms of anxiety. I have pondered the thought of asking the doctors about antidepressants for a while now (a good few months), and recently I decided I was going to. I went to the doctors last week and told him my symptoms and he prescribed a drug called "Citalopram". He talked me through it and it seemed like the right thing for me. So I picked up my prescription and was very happy about it!
I got home and opened up my prescription, and looked at the leaflet that comes with it, only to realise that nausea was one of the most common side effects! I am so annoyed about this because I really wanted to take these to help my awful anxiety... Do you think I should try them anyway? Has anyone here had any experience with Citalopram? I am too scared to take them at the moment and I'm considering going back to the doctors to consult him on the matter...
Thanks for reading.
