    Hey all,

I just got my period today, and well if you read the other post I made, last nite was pretty rough. I don't know what my problem is, my stomach is really hurting. I mean its not nausea its like cramping pain like not in the lower abdomen area but higher up like below the solar plexes around my stomach. I don;t think its ever done this before, is this normal sometimes for periods? It really hurts, and well goin to the br is still kinda funky, but my stomach has been fine most of today, then I ate, and now its just hurts bad. Is this normal for periods or not?

Are you sure it's not your stomach muscles? When my kids weresick a couple months back-I was soooo panicky because I was having pains but no nausea. Then I thought back and remembered, I opened my daughter's window and it was stuck and there were toys I was stepping overwhile I was doing it-so I ended up straining my muscles.

I sometimes get d* with periods, so I'd say that's probably normal.

I would think about what swiftette says about the cramping possibly
being in your abdominal muscles. Did you do any kind of activity
yesterday that you don't usually do? Anything? You'd be surprised how
much can make varios body parts hurt if you aren't used to using the
    muscles required for it.

I also know that my abs tend to tense up when I have a panic attack.
It's because it tends to make w/e stomach pain I'm worried about worse.
If that could be your case try relaxing them. Watch your stomach when
you breathe and make sure it's noticably moving with each breath. Don't
push out too hard, just let it expand as much as it naturally wants to.

Well, I did swim for several hours yesterday, but lots of the time I just kinda bobbed there. Hmm, that might have something to do with it. I thought tho it might be connected to my period or something. Also, now that I think about it I also tried to open a hard-to-open window yesterday. Hmm... I took some pain killers and it did help. Maybe it is the muscles. I thought it was just related to the d* or the period. Its odd because the pain the stomach pain started just after I ate for the second time today. Maybe that did something? I don't know.

I always get stomach pain with my period. But I guess Period symptoms are different for everyone. It might have just been a muscle ache like you said.

Maybe. This morning cramps further down are just awful. I just don't know if its I gotta go br cramps or period cramps, it might be a combination. Just feels like my guts are going thro a wringer. I think this period is one of the worst ones. Do some of you have worse months than others?

Lately my periods are torture. I make sure I take Tylenol period pain pills every 4 hours if not than I am on my knees praying the pain goes away. Every women are different. You could have pulled a stomach muscle. Just rest, if you have a heating pad or hot water bottle try that. Or soak in a nice warm tub. Hope you feel better.

Hey Ontario girl, I too have been regularly taking tylenol! Urgh! Do you get stomach pains too like that? This morning it was cramps below the beltline getting me. Ouch! I hope the pain eases for you, sometimes being a woman just is not nice!

Good Lord, yes! Last time I got my period it literally knocked me to my knees. I was in Home Depot at the time and it got so bad I nearly collapsed in the paint isle. Below the beltline I believe is worse. It normally puts me in a fetal position. What I found out works is a good pain killer like Ibuprofen or Aleve with a nice hot cup of ginger tea or peppermint tea. Heating pad wouldn't hurt none, either. Hot soup, for some strange reason, worked wonders on me. Strange, looked as if I was suffering from a flu rather than Aunt Flow, which I'm having difficultyregardingwhich is worse.

    Yikes Peechfeet that sounds awful!

Man now it feels like if I move wrong I get this stabbing pain in the muscles around my stomach. Maybe I did strain something, cause ouch! It did this just a few minutes ago, I was bending over something, then straightened up and I felt like my stomach muscles were being stabbed. I don't think that is period related tho. Man I feel all messed up.
