Default The season is winding down

Have you noticed? If you typed in norovirus into google a month ago, you'd come up with upteen stories per day about outbreaks. Now, if you type it in, one comes up from today or yesterday and the rest are from days ago.

Also, I teach at an Elementary school. Our absence list was terrible last month. I'm talking pages upon pages. Now, it is short and back to normal.

Here's to Spring around the corner!!!!

I have been dying to share this with someone. I had three robins in my yard yesterday. Yippee! Spring is definitely on the way.

That is awesome (signs of spring)! I noticed some of the trees here (east Tennessee) have buds on them, and I have even seen some yellow daffodils blooming! It's weird here lately, because we will have a day where it gets in the 50's and even 60, then the next day-- snow! Craziness.

Oh thank goodness! I hate November-February because it's stomach bug season. I'm starting to breathe easier now. Come on spring!

I was a nervous wreck, my daughters first time going to pre school. I figured she would be coming home with all types of germs, but knock on wood......nothing. She v once back in November but she had a cold and think she just coughed too hard. If I can make it thru the next few weeks, I think we are pretty safe. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, I'm sure it has helped, but her favorite food is yogurt!

I was just thinking yesterday how I haven't heard anything in weeks. My husband said attendance at the junior high he works at has been great.

I hate to say it but statistics mean nothing to the individual. It is always going to be around regardless of what season it is. I've come to accept that but I do find solace in knowing we are about halfway done with winter.
I wanna feel the change consume me,
    Feel the outside turning in.
I wanna feel the metamorphosis and
    Cleansing I've endured within
    My shadow

You're right, but it does seem like it's worse sometimes than others. The new strain thing worries me a bit because I noticed that I got sick in some of the other years that had new strains, but I have been emetophobic since 8 and I have not had that many SV in that timeframe (23 years) so I guess there must have been a few mew strains I didn't get. This I know: I got sick in 1990 in February when we had the "Desert Shield" virus, 1997 when we had another new strain and 2007 with another one. I got sick last year too, but I didn't v* with that one thankfully. I did not hear of any notable 2011 strains so it might have been random. It was definitely brought home by my dad from a trip. He thinks it's because he was stuck on a small regional jet with a guy who kept running to the bathroom on a 40 minute flight. Put the pieces together and it sounds obvious. BTW my 2011 and 2007 experiences were in mid/late December and 1997 was in mid January.
