Sure!! It is an inner ear disorder that causes dizziness and motion sickness. Not fun for one of us.. It tends to come on suddenly and can last from a few hours to years. I have been one of the unfortunate ones who has had it for years. But I found a few things that have made it bearable, and wanted to share with those who may be suffering.

    Thanks for asking!

    Hey again,

I have found that salt intake has been a HUGE factor in how severe my Vertigo gets. I have been really good about eating as little salt as possible, and I have no bad dizzy days. Laying off caffiene also seems to help. I know it sounds simple, but it has made all the difference in the world to me. It was a great discovery after suffering for so many years..

I hope this info helps someone! Let me know if there are any questions. Feel free to PM me if you like..

I have menieres. It is true about limiting your sodium intake, and caffeine. It does help.

    Blueiz25,

Oh man, I am so sorry! I have a feeling that may be what I have too, just because it is so constant. Luckily I have only had 3 major attacks, but the after effects last for years. The doctors said there is no way I have it, because I still do not v* even when the attacks are severe. Doctors are so frustrating. They dont understand that I just wont v*... How has it been for you? Have any other tips that have helped?

I have never vomited from an attack either. You don't have to vomit to have menieres. I have had it for 4 and a half years now. The first year was almost unbearable because I didn't know what was wrong and several different doctors all told me I was depressed. But I finally found an ent that believed me and instantly put me through a battery of tests to make sure it wasnt anything else. that is how menieres is diagnosed, through the process of elimination, there is no specific test for it. After the first year, I got to feeling better for about 6 months, then what I like to call the three year hell started. I have been in "remission" now for about a year. Just the dizzies every now and then. the feeling of fullness in my ear is constant, and I have a lot of abdomen discomfort, but other than that Im good as far as that is concerned. I take antihistamines on a regular basis, watch my salt intake, try not to get to hot or to cold, and at the first sign it starts to flare up I double my dose of antihisamines and completely cut added salt out of my diet, then pray that it was just a case of dizzies lasting a couple weeks, and not the one that will last for years. I also have a constant supply of antivert, and phenergan. My ent prescribes me 100 tablets a month every year for both of those meds. It was easier to deal with after I got diagnosed because then I new that I had a medical condition. I beleve that my emet started because of this.

Wow, that sounds so horrible, I am so sorry. I have exactly the same symptoms you do, so I can relate to how you feel. I think it really makes it a ton worse when you are an emet. When the room is spinning and all I can think about is, please dont let me v*. I can imagine how you could become an emet because of this. I unfotunately have had emet for over 30 years. Blah.

Well let me know if you come across anything else that works for you, I would love to hear about it.

    Take Care,
