Default Looks like my son has a sv

I posted yesterday that he wouldn't eat much or drink and would gag when I put the bottle in his mouth. When I took him to the doctor, he said it was due to a sore throat. Well, he started having multiple BMs. Today they are looser and have changed to the yellow d color.

I am a mess right now and my husband isn't being very supportive. I am still changing each and every diaper, but am now wondering when and where I will get sicki.

You know, it may not be a sv*. It could be for any number of reasons. D* is a symptom of MANY different illnesses. And even if it is a sv*, as long as you're washing hands after each changing, you should be good! At least he's not v*! Hang in there!

I am sorry your husband is not being supportive. Just keep being supermom, keep cleaning, and keep your hands away from your face. Like Sam said, it may not be sv. Lots of times kids get d with other illnesses. I have seen it with strep, with ear infections, with teething, even with too much juice.in my kids.

Yes, no v at all. I am wearing gloves when I change him and lysoling the diaper changing pad after each time. I'm hoping that will keep it from spreading. I'm confused though...it it is noro...why did he start with a fever and loss of appetite and then take 1 1/2 days to get to the point where he had d?

Hi my son had something like this, he started with fever, went to the dr he said it was a viral throat infection. 2 days later the fever was gone but the diareah started. I called the dr and he said the diareah was part of the virus and it would last 7 to 10 days. Its the way the body handles the virus when they are little. At day 8 the diareah was gone. I never caught anything. What your son has is prob not a traditional sv. Just wash your hands good after every change.

Huh...weird. Yes, the fever is gone now after 48 hours. He started drinking a little more today, but has spit up a couple of times. Nothing like vomit. He spit up once when he burped and once at dinner...but none of his food came up. I'm confused...

Thanks for letting me know that this could be a part of a different type of virus.

It sounds more like a run-of-the-mill virus to me. A lot of times, post nasal drip is what causes the throat to be red and sore, then as it moves on down... d*. I actually have some sort of cold/virus right now and have since Wednesday. I don't have a fever or d* (but I'm also 31 ), but sore and red throat, lots of post nasal drip, terrible head congestion, overall just feel icky. I haven't had much of an appetite, either, because I just can't taste anything! The post nasal drip could also be making his little tummy upset. I wouldn't worry about it being a sv. My experience with those has always been: comes on hard and fast and leaves fairly quickly; no sore throat or post nasal drip. Keep doing what you're doing. I'm sure it's almost over!

Possible teething. My twins had d the whole time they were teething. Dr said it was because of all the extra saliva their body was producing.

I agree with the others. If he is around one, he could be teething along with having a little cold. He's probably got excess saliva. What a trooper you are to change all the diapers without a break! Honestly, I would have taken a diaper break when hubby offered. Since it's not sv and no one else is probably going to get it, let hubby take over diaper duty for awhile. You could use the break. A poopy baby is a lot of work, let hubby take over for a bit and get some rest. You deserve it. *hugs*
