    Default compazine?

Can anyone tell me about compazine? Is it as good as Zofran? Does anyone here take it? Whats the difference between these antiemetics?

I'm not really sure what the difference between the two are... but I have taken Compazine before. My doctor originally prescribed me Zofran but since it was soooo expensive he changed it to Compazine and I think it really worked. I didn't have any bad side effects. I think I may have had fp or some kind of sv because I rememeber only going out to eat for lunch and that was the only thing I ate and I didn't feel hungry or had an appetite which during that the time was weird for me because I ate a lot and my emet wasn't bad. Anyways, I wsa getting ready for bed and I was feeling a little off and my face started tingling and I just tried to ignore it and I went to bed and my boyfriend hugged me and like squezzed my stomach and I had to run to the bathroom, but I first ran and took maybe one or two compazines and felt pretty n* and had terrible d* for a while, I swear I thought it was going to happen, I like felt it in my stomach and it felt just like when I v* a few years before and it didn't happen. I think the Compazine really did work.

It gave me hallucinations and caused my neck muscles to become weak so that i couldn't hold my head up. I was 17 when this happened 30 years ago and had to get a shot of some sort to counteract the drug because my throat was starting to close off. Not to scare anyone but that's my experience with it.

Yes, rileysmom, that can happen to people...there is a term for that kind of reaction, I can't think of it right now. But I love compazine and haven't had any problems with it. My doc is nice enough to prescribe it and I only use it when I realllly need to. It's worth trying.
