As I type this, my husband is on the way home from picking up our oldest daughter from camp. She started running a fever and has diarrhea. She says she doesnt feel nausea nor has she had any v'ing. I just hate all of this, it seems like our summers are doomed or something. Last summer it was me that was sick and having surgery, now this summer, it has been my family being sick, ect ......... I know my daughter cant help that she got sick, thats not what I am down about, Im upset because now I am afraid to go anywhere off too far on a vacation. No telling what might happen.

    Anywho ...............

I wonder if she got this d* bug from my hubby or her younger brother, or if its something she picked up at camp. Its been two weeks or more since my hubby and son were sick. I'll have to look at the calander to be more sure.

It's crazy how we all (the members at this site) think the same. I have the same exact feelings when somebody at my house or workgets sick. Just try to think about other things and do things that will keep your brain occupied.

you keep a calandeR? thats awesome. I should start to do that

Hey, you never know why your daughter has d*. Maybe she just ate
something that was too greasy. I know if I eat a lot of greasy food I
get d*. Sv's* in the summer aren't that common. And if she did get one,
you won't get it because you didnt get sick from your husband and son,
why would you get sick from her?

Just think about how many more bugs you have been exposed to in the
years your daughter wasnt yet born, and realize how much better your
immune system is than hers, since she is younger than you and hasnt
been exposed to as much as you.

Plus, even if it is a sv*, shes not v* so you dont have anything to
worry about. i dont know if you get as worried about d*, but i dont
have a problem with d* as much as v*. so if youre the same as me, d*
wouldnt kill you. (neither would v* but we all know its easier said
    than done)

So just dont worry, and rationalize the situation. You may feel better if you do. Good luck

It sounds like she probably picked something up at camp. With all those kids, there are probably germs floating around everywhere. Hope everyone feels better soon! Sounds like you've had a rough summer. Hope things get better!

My daughter is fine this morning. She said that she started feeling bad on Tues. afternoon. She said that not long after lunch, she got a bad headache, which the camp nurse treated with Motrin. Then, during the night is when the diarrhea started. She was taken back to the camp nurse and she was running a fever, so the nurse gave her more Motrin. When her fever went down, she went back to her group. She even did some activities yesterday, but by 4:30 she was running fever again and wanted to come home. She says she feels fine now. I dont know what was going on with her, Im just glad she feels better!!!!

I'm glad she's doing better too! Could it have been the heat? I knwo the entire country seems to be having a heat wave right now. If she was getting dehydrated she may have gotten a fever from that? Either way even if its a bug there wasn't any n* or v* so you will be fine and more than likely won't even catch it to start w/,plus camp food probably isnt' the best that could have done it too. Anyhwo, again, glad she's better!

I dont know if it was camp food, going to the beach, pool, or what. She usually is not one to get sick from going to the beach, ect ............ You know how some children get sick everytime they go it seems like. (I have a niece like that.) She's better, now if only I could get brave enough to go on vacation with them.
