A few weeks ago, I was having a slice of plain white bread, feeling comfortable about it as it was a 'safe food'. When I got down to the last bit of crust, I realised there was some white 'fluff' on it. I took a closer look and realised it was mould- EURGH!!! The bread wasn't even past its use by date. Apparently, it was very warm in the kitchen so mould started to develop- eurgh! Its happened once before that aswell. Both times were ok though, I didn't have any odd symptoms and I didn't feel ill or anythingbut I spent many, many hours looking for 'strange' symptoms and completely freaking out and panicking! Now whenever I eat any bread, I closely examine it! Any body else had any experiences like this?

Yeha, I usualy check things like that. Now I actually check chocolate too lol. I buy the miniatures and one day I opened one and there was a wormy looking bug in it! I think it was a moth, they have been making a home out of my cupboard but I look before I eat now! lol

I was in a similar situation during a hospitalization, but instead of funky bread, it was funky milk. Skim milkisn't very popular on the pediatric floor, so it tends to sit around for days. The carton I picked up wasn't even expired, and... eugh, it tasted nasty. Now no matter where I am, I smell milk before I drink it. My dad tells me I'm being silly, but what does he know? XD

Oh, and the good news about mold: most of your common bread molds are harmless. I don't suggesthaving a mold consumption party, but eating a bit here and there shouldn't upset your tummy. I probably sound like an abnormal emet, because I have no problem sampling the mold to determine the species. XD
