    Default Quetiapine anyone?

Hi, I have been terrified of vomiting for a whil now but hoped that it would disappear however wheneve bad news came along, my anxiety level with regard to v increased however in May last year my son got ill and overnight it seemed that my anxiety increased, and not just about v, but everything. When my Mum (and best friend) was diagnosed with Parkinsons just before Christmas, I went from being supermum/wife who handled everything and fixed everything, to being constatly anxious, unabe to concentrate, eat, or organise anthing without great effort, and just feel unmotivated and very very sad. I am on a few different meds for pain and when I approached my doctor and told her about my anxiety, she put me on a 1 mmonth trial of quarter of a tablet of 25mg Quetiapine. I am so desperate to be feeling better and am scared this is too low a dose, (shes started it low because I'm on very high doses of pain pump. What I realy want to know is one, do you think I may get some relief on this dose and how long does it take to work? Also, does anxiety and Emet always increase every time something stressful happens, and if so, does it come right again or is this it? Thanks in advance for reading my post x

i've been on quetiapine for about 6 weeks now, and i think it has helped to reduce my panic attacks, however my anxiety in general is still pretty bad. i started on half a 25mg tablet, and have been on the whole 25mg for the past 4 weeks. in my (uninformed) opinion, a quater of a tablet might not be enough for you to notice any benefit. just my opnion though and yes its normal for emet and anxiety to increase when your stressed, happens to all the time :/ sometimes it will get better as soon as the stressful time has passed, soemtimes it'll stick around.

    hope that helps! xx

Thankyou so much skittles04, that's a wealth of info! You've cleared it up. I think I will call my doc and ask for a raise
