    Default V from too much exercise?

    Okay, so I joined the softball team. I have conditioning 5 days a week for 2 weeks. We do A LOT of training. Today I did about 5 laps around the second floor of my school, I ran up two flights of stairs about 20 times, I lifted a bunch of weights, did sit ups, squats, etc. I thought I was going to V, because you know how people sometimes V when they run a lot. Does anybody know how to prevent it?

    I have felt like that often. I work out really hard and I often feel like I am going to v. I usually feel it coming on b/c I feel dizzy first. When I start to feel that way, I take a quick break, get some air, get a drink of cold water and then go back to it.

    It's from overheating. Drink small sips of water while you exercise and you should be able to prevent that. Also, as you get in shape, the feeling should go away. But always have water available when you work out to prevent dehydration. I know on those weight loss shows they push people until they v, but in real life, it's better not to overheat yourself that way. Slow down a bit if you need to.

    It's something that I fear, as well, and it's tough, because I work out--hard--very regularly and used to teach aerobics. I have never v* from exercise, though, even though I have felt n* before. It's true that the more you do the intense stuff, the better your body will be able to tolerate it. Some of the trainers at my gym LOVE it and brag about it if they make their clients v*. I think that is mean and cruel, and I promise you don't have to work out THAT hard to see amazing results. The times I have felt n* have been after a very hard kick boxing class and from squatting at my max. I usually walk around slowly (don't stop immediately-- want to get the heart rate down gradually) and SIP (don't guzzle) water. I never work out when I'm starving, but I don't like to eat 3-4 hours before (especially if it's a lot of jumping, like kick boxing, etc.) or 1 hour after. I say listen to your body-- at the first hint of nausea, I know I am pushing a bit too hard and need to bring it down a notch. Exercise is wonderful for my anxiety, by the way. Today, I was starting to have a panic attack but forced myself to work out anyway-- the first half hour was tough, but by the second half, my anxiety n* and tingling arms were long gone!

    Maybe taking an anti-emetic before exercising would help.

    I think I may try the antiemetic thing for a bit because I'm starting a new cardio workout called HIIT (high intensive interval training)-- I was looking online, and several people posted to ease into it so that you don't "take a ride on the vomit comet"...?! Scared me, and even though I'm following the program and taking it slowly, I just want to be sure. If I v* during exercise, that would "taint" one of my favorite activities:/
