Just curious but when you all start to go into panic mode....do you have one person who can usually calm you down...someone you usually go to or call when your panicing starts to happen. Mine is to this day my mother. I am 25 years old and I will still call my mother at 2 in the morning and she somehow is always able to calm me down.

Just curious if you all had someone?

MIne is mostly my husband. It used to be my mother, but lately we seem to be growing apart a little bit. She doesn't seem to understand like she used to - now she seems more annoyed. Maybe it's just me, but feeling like that during a panic attack doesn't help, so lately I stick to my hubby.

Crazy me,

I am so sorry to hearyou dont have anyone to talk to. You are much stronger than I am. It is a horrible fear to go through by yourself. It is good that we have this group going though....because you know that we are all here for you!

I've recently discovered that when I have a tummy ache and my fiance rubs my tummy it makes it feel better. I haven't really found anyone that makes me not panic, though.

My boyfriend is wonderful about my panic attacks. This is gonna
sound strange, but when I panic I have to pace and tell stories to take
my mind off of the n*. I will pace back and fourth in my room
and tell him stories about my childhood, or vacations I have been
on. He usually sleeps right through my stories! But that is
ok because I am sometimes up for hours at a time, and he has to work in
the morning. But if the panic gets really bad, I do wake him
up. Before I was with my boyfriend, I would call my dad...even at
3 in the morning. Carrie

No one.. I don't really panic badly like I used to.. back when i used
to i'd just go to my mom.. but i've noticed now that i deal better if
i'm on my own. if i feel a little panicky, i can calm myself down but
if someone's there, asking "what's wrong?" and stuff that just makes me
feel worse...

No one, I never told my parents until recently so they were never my comfort. If I'm panicking, I want to be all alone. People make me more nervous. SometimesI have to excuse myself and pace, talk to myself until I calm down but with people around, I get so nervous.

Its funny when reading these how much we are all alike with the pacing....I also will pace for hours! I also go into cleaning mode I think my husband kinda likes that part of the panic attack because you could eat off my floors when I am in panic clean mode

Yes! My father. I've always associated him to be my savior. I carry my cellphone around everywhere just so I can contact him any time. He's 3000 miles away from me at the moment (California) and I'm in Florida, so every night when I talk to him I always make sure he leaves his phone on so I can call, incase there's a problem.

I also pace... a lot, usually muttering incoherent things as well. Normally I pace in circles, like around the little island that's set in the middle of the kitchen, or around the dining table. I can't seem to enter my bedroom for some reason... just scares me.

if i know it's "fake nausea" which brought on the panic yes, i phone my best friend Katy.

But, if i feel lke it's proper nausea i can't have anyone around at all. i have to be alone.

(lol - my dog was just barking at a plug... she's insane)

Christine - I clean when I am anxious too! When ever my husband gets sick, especially, I go straight to the kitchen and do the dishes, do laundry, whatever I can to stay busy and moving. Same thing when I get n* - I think it's because I figure if I can still move around and do stuff, I must not be sick.

I like to be alone but when I go into major panic usually I have my mum or no one. I don't like my mum to know now when I am anxious. I used to have my GF and even after we broke up we were very close but she hasnt been around the last month or two so now I have no one again lol

My mother is usually the one that can calm me down or is the person I can turn to when I am panicking. She is also the only one that I feel comfortable withseeing me sick. It's always been that way, and I think it'll always be that way.

As for the pacing, I do it too!! Sometimes I will pace all night while nauseaus or having an anxiety episode, as if it has some sort of magical power to prevent me from being sick! I will pace and pace until my feet hurt! And like peachfeet, I willpace in circles and mumble incoherently and I will also digmy fingernails into my skin to try and prevent from being sick.Edited by: NCsmile6

I could have wrote that myself. Ive called my mom at 4 am because I thought I was going to v*. She is the one who calms me down whenever I am in panic mode. and I'm 21, not much younger than you and I still go running to mom Myboyfriend has been really supportive too, although he hasn't ever been around me when Ive really panicked... which is funny because we've been together for over 2 years. Maybe he relaxes me so I don't even panic.
