Am I the only emet who is not skinny!!!!! I am not obess.....but I feel that when I am not hungry I am going to get sick (I guess I relate it when I did get sick I remember that the thought of food grossed me out) so know I eat and I think that I will be okay. I wish my fear made me not want to eat at least that would be one positive thing about the fear

I don't think that EVERYONE here is skinny--it's just that some of us don't eat very much due to the emet or other stomach problems. There are many people on here that would love to be able to eat normally and gain a few pounds.

I lost a lot of weight due to GERD and IBS. I am 5ft 6in and I got down to about 106lbs. I am now around 112, so I've gained a little back. I'm doing much better now, but I remember a time when I would have done anything to eat like a normal person and not be sick!

I used to be overweight but I stopped eating because of emet and lost a LOT of weight. Thankfully I am much better now and my weight has stabalised at an average healthy weight.

I keep my weight in check, if I ate everything I wanted when I wanted I'd be enormous! I just got weighed at the doctors the other day and the nurse says my BMI is just right - I'm 5 foot six/seven and 9 stone 8 pounds. I have a very good appetite, but when I am particularly anxious or worried about something I can't eat a thing.

I'm a vegetarian, so this makes me feeleasier about the food I eat. If I ate meat I'd probably be worried it wasn't cooked well enough and would definitely steer clear of shell fish as I know of so many people who have had terrible food poisoning from these.

I used to be very overweight but lost 70 lbs to a virus and then a further 50lbs to emet (lost more than half my body weight im 105lbs now!) I would love to be a bit heavier now though but my eating is still so crap! Im looking forward to getting my therapy and getting over this damn phobia so i can go out and eat what i want but in moderation. My virus and emet hashad a bit of a silver lining where weight loss is concerned, i'd never go back to being overweight again

I'm one of the skinny ones. Maybe for a girl it's cool, but it's not cool being a guy and being 5'8 and only weighing 125 =(

I'm not skinny. Last time I checked I was 144, and I am about
5'8. I tend to eat more then I should....and lots of bad stuff at
that. I love chocolate and greasy food. I have gained about
20 pounds in the last 2 years. My boyfriend and I are starting
the South Beach Diet this weekend. Hope it works! Carrie

you know, we'll always assume the grass is greener.

Why can't we be happy with the way we are? I mean sure, I have my fat days, where all I wanna do is wear jogging pants and eat chips, but then I think to myself, Marlylin monroe had curves and she was the sex icon of the century.

I'm 5 feet even and about 110 lbs. A little more chubby than I have been in the past and I'd like to loose about 20 lbs, but my boyfriend says he wouldn't know what to do if I lost my bum, lol.

I used to be very underweight and sickly looking when I was younger ( I was sick alot) and very pale.

I think we just hafta remember that someone wants something you have. I'm betting you that anygirl, regradless of their weight, who walks in the room wishes she had your hair, or eyes, or boobs, lol.

I am fit. I weight 110 pounds at 5'4". I practice one hour
of yoga every morning, walk the track three miles four times a week,
cross-country ski two times a week and lift weights three times a
    week.

I'm 5'7 and 115 pounds, and I have no idea whether or not it has to do with my emetophobia. I tend to overeat a lot, and I think I probably eat more than a lot of my friends, so I think the reason I am thin is that the food that I eat is on the healthy side, and I unfortunately seem to burn a lot of calories from stress. Honestly, I don't think weight is a big deal. The only person who cares about your weight is you! I beleive that it's all in your attitude- one of my most popular friends is overweight, and she gets hit on all the time! It's just a matter or whether or not you're healthy. Remember, being too thin can be more unhealthy than being overweight!

When I was a child I was kinda chubby. When I was a teenager I went through the emet anorexia thing and lost tons of weight really quickly. I was 5'4" and 110 lbs. I guess that sounds probably average weight, but let me tell you.. on my body it was gross. My ribs stuck out bad, my hips were way bony and you could see my individual bones to my ribs from my sternum. It didn't look very becoming (in my opinion, but I think women should have curves and be kinda soft) When I became pregnant, I began to eat again and have struggled with my weight since. When not on any antidepressants I am around 130-150 and I actually like myself there. I have got up to almost 200 lbs. on paxil though. YIKES! That was scary! I didn't even weigh that when I delivered my daughter! I finally got back down to 130, started taking seroquel and jumped right back up to 160 immediately. So, I went off the seroquel and am working out really hard and trying not to eat sugar or eat at bedtime. I have the tendancy to not eat much through the day, but much at night. Anyway.. I became one of those who feels really ill when my tummy gets too empty, so I don't think I could be ananorexic emetagain. I get really shakey, nausiated and light headed now when I don't eat. That never happened to me back then.

Well, I am 5'9 and a little overweight. I could stand to lose about 30-40 lbs. (and a tummy tuck wouldnt hurt either after three children, lol ....... ) I need to exercise more. My emet generally does not affect my appetite unless someone in my home has been sick.

Jess-you really are skinny!! Mu husband is 5'6, but he weighs 140lbs, and has a thirty inch waist, and I think he is pretty skinny. I used to have a thirty inch waist ...................

I need to get out and exercise!!!!

    I don't know if I am underweight or not...but I am 33 years old and 5 ft, 1in. and I weigh 113.

I feel healthier when I have more weight than this though. All through my teen years I weighed about 90-95 lbs. When I was 22-29 years old, I weighed 95-100 lbs.

I guess I am considered average after having 5 kids? I dunno what my weight should be...I have always wondered. Charlotte

I am 5' 2 and way about 100 lbs. I have a very high metabolism. Most people tell me "your so lucky" or "do you eat? (i'm sure all the thin people here have heard those one to many times!) It's really annoying, and it's not flattering, I really wish I could be heavier, but this emet has been at it's worst the past couple of years, so my eating habits very picky when I eat away from home. I try my best to eat at home, but can't always do that. I wont eat at work, my co-workers always have to comment ("no wonder your so thin, you never eat) actually I do eat alot at home, but i'm so terrified of catching an sv, I dread the thought of eating out, I don't know how clean those hands are that prepared my food!!! Does any one have any suggestions on how I could gain weight? Do you think ensure is a good way to do it? Thank you for any advice, and thanks for listening. Sheri
