for all of your animals out there, i thought this might be a fun post.

who's your pet(s), how old are they, and why do you love them so much?

My First pet is my Kitty tigger. shes a calico cat about 15 years old. She sleeps on my pillow every night tucked into my chest and her purring puts me to sleep. I love her because she knows all my stories and secrets and licks my nose when I'm upset.

My Other pet is Loverboy, he's a 5 year old orange tomboy cat, who was originally a stray that we took in. he has more personality than any other cat I've ever seen.he makes me laugh when he gives me funny kitty looks and always has these expressions on his face that make him look like he's about to say something really important. he goes for walks with me and thinks he's a dog, lol.

what would we do without our animals?

    Good topic, Babydoll!

Unfortunately, my pet and I have established a love/hate relationship. He's a small dog, mixed with I believe Chihuahua and Terrier. I've had him for two years, got him as a puppy. He's completely short-black haired, splotched with white from the chin, covering his entire stomach. As well as his feet and paws, which gives the impression he's wearing socks.

His name is Pepper's, a male. He is... what I consider my sibling. I'm an only child, and he's the closest form of a brother I've ever had. We're both greedy; he steals my toys, I steal his. I snarl at him, he snarls at me. He tugs one end of the sock, and I tug the other. He's always consuming his food record speed when I stroll by, his ears quirked up just in case I try something... sneaky.

However, despite our many quarrel's he's my best friend. He's always cuddling up with me, licking my face and greeting me at the door with a tail going 60 mph. And of course, we both share the same hobbies, like tormenting unsuspecting neighborhood cats.

Oh, this is a fun topic! My Kitty's name is Roxi. She is 4
years old, with short hair....every color you can imagine!
Orange, Tan, Black, White, and Gray! Stripes and spots. My
friends say she looks like a Snickers Bar.
I love her because she makes me laugh! I swear she was born part
rabbit. She doesn't run, she hops!! It's so funny to
watch. And she likes to go outside and hop after the frogs.
But she won't hurt them...she just follows them around.
    Animals are wonderful! Carrie

Yay ok my cat is called Spice and I love her to bits! She is a tabby cat with only one eye. She lost her other eye about 3 years ago when she got run over....but I nursed her til she was better again. She's probably used her nine lives though lol. when we first got her as a kitten she was covered in fleas and very sick. But she is a survivor cat!!!!!!!! She hates when people cry, she'll come and sit on you til you stop lol She's always with me when I panic and she is adorable. Ok so here are 2 pictures!

    Great post!

Ok, so I have four dogs: Margot, Sissi, Issite, Goopie. I love them all to bits, but my puppy is Sissi. She is my life. I love her so much and she curls up with me at night and I just feel so protected and loved. She feels when I am down or nervous and comforts me. I could not be happier whenI am around my babies.

Good topic! I have a yellow lab named Taupe who is hilarious, she just turned 8. This winter when my panic attacks were really bad, my doctor told my parents that maybe they should give in and get me a kitten (I've always wanted one but my parents said no). So on Valentine's Day I got a fluffy white kitten and called her Lucy. She's the cutest cat ever, and she's really affectionate. I really love her! We're all lucky to have pets because I think they help us out alot when we need some love.

We have a cat named Lucy. She is a tiger kitty with long hair. She is really cute and has quite the personality. She fetches pipe cleaners and will carry them all over the house to you when she wants to play. One morning I woke up surrounded by pipe cleaners in my bed. She meets us at the back door everytime we come home, meowing at us. Even though she seems to really like us and will sleep on the bed with us, she doesn't like to be held. She only cuddles when we are sleeping. I could go on forever. She's just so darn cute.

Jill, this is an awsome thread!

Okay, I love my dog Jessie because he is really and trully a sweetheart! As all pets, his love is unconditional. He doesn't care if I'm cranky, b*tchy, PMSy, nauseaus, angry, or sad, he'll always come to me with his tail wagging, ready to play or ready for a belly rub. He always wantsme to rub that bigfatbelly! LOL!And he just loves people!Probablymore than dogs themselves. Hejust loves to be around people! He is verysensitive to my feelings, for example, heknows when I am angry. He will grab ontomy leg and whine when I am in a bad mood. He also hates it when we leave the house...but we can't take him everywhere, you know? He's always there to greet us at the door with a wagging tail! Another thing that is really special about my Jessie is that he is there with me through panic attacks. When I pace, he paces with me. Even when I feel like I'm going to v*, he follows me to the bathroom (although I don't like it then, but it's sweet), and he'll stand outside the doorand waitfor me.(99.9% of the time it's a false alarm). But I can tell he's really concerned for me, because sometimes he scratches at the door and whines, because he knows I am really upset/anxious. He'll also sit with me when I have to pull an all nighter for school. (Mind you he sleeps at my feet, but he's there for panicking and procrastinating.) And he's a real ham! I can take pictures and pictures of him, and he just poses like a natural! LOL!

I have no idea what I would do without Jessie!

Glad to see there are so many pet lovers out there!

I have 3 cats: Samson is my purebred red/white Persian and he will be 3 years old in September. My hubby got him for me as an early Christmas present the year we got married. He is my baby. He has the biggest eyes and sweetest expression. Moses is my gray domestic short hair and he turned 2 in April. He is a very strong muscular cat that loves affection. My third cat is actually a foster kitty. My husband and I rescued him from Subway last year. We named him Jared (after the Subway guy who lost all the weight!) I have been trying to find a home for Jared with no luck. I'm not able to keep him indefinitely and would love to find him a forever home.

I also have 2 dogs: Gracie is a black German Shepherd and technically she belongs to my husband. He got her about 3 years before we met. We also rescued a stray dog that came to our house and we named him Buddy, because he's so friendly. We're not certain what breed he is--just a mixture of several!

I also have 2 beta fish--we got them as "pets" for the cats. They love to sit and watch them. We have them in an aquarium so that the cats can't get any bright ideas!

I love animals and don't know what I would do without them. When I am not feeling well or have had a bad day, a few moments with my kitties is all I need to make me feel better. In fact, my ultimate dream is to start a cat rescue. There are so few in my area and we have such a need for them.

    I LOVE animals!!!!!!

My childhood dog's name is Missy, she's a terri-poo, and she's 13 years old. She still lives with my parents and she's my very first love. We had other dogs, but maybe I was too young to really make a connection with them. With Missy, she is like a sister... my parents treat her like a person. Call that what you will, but she's a part of the family like myself or my brother.

    Now my pets:

I have a grey striped tabby named Kramer, he's 9. He's calmed down a lot but he used to be super wild. He's a cool guy.

My american eskimo dog is Chloe, she's 5, and if you remember, she used to be my avatar until I became obsessed with Sex and the City. She's so precious. She's who I wait all day to come home and see, she sleeps above my head at night, and is such a sweetheart. I would do absolutely anything for her.

My german shepherd is Duncan, and he's 3. He's a big dopey doofus, but he's alot of fun. He's got tons of energy and an awesome personality. He's the type of dog that looks mean (people have a preconcieved idea about german shepherds, but in reality they're the biggest babies) but he'd probably help robbers fill up their van if anyone ever came to rob us, and then go home with them.

I love my animals, they're like my kids. Alot of people don't understand why some of us feel this way, but I am thankful every single day for God giving me these precious souls to take care of and make part of my life. They've truly made my life better having known them. This is an awesome thread!
In memory of the sweetest german shepherd I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I love you, Duncan. 3/12/02 - 12/19/11

Wehave a black and whiteEnglish Springer Spaniel who is just the biggest bundle of energy. He's just over a year old and a beautiful dog, always has a fuss for everybody.

I also have two male rats who are adorable. The eldest is over two years, so a bit of a geriatric but still going strong. The youngest is such a big cuddly laid back rattie and comes to me when I call his name.

Animals ask so little of us yet give us so much. However sad I am my animals never fail tocheer me up

    OMG I love animals!

I had a cat named The Cat when I was in high school. We had to put him to sleep when he was only 5 years old. I cried for weeks. It was the first death I had ever been through.

In college my roommate and I adopted two kitties from the same litter. Mine was Prince. Him and I never really got along and now my dad has him. I think he is like 11 years old now.

Two years ago my husband and I adopted the best dog ever from Lone Star Boxer Rescue. I cannot explain how much he has enriched my life. Phoenix loves me unconditionally. I can have the worst day and he can do one of silly sounds and I just smile. Phoenix is about 4 years old and he is a boxer mix. He is about 90% boxer. Love him. It is somewhat ridiculous how much I love him. I don't have children, so I think I put all my maternal instincts on him.

Pets are my savoirs I swear.

I have Donk..a 2 year old red and white basset hound. He is WILD..you would expect a fat couch potato of a dog when you hear absset hound but not..he is a lean mean racing machine..he runs laps around our house..which we call the Basset 500. Donk makes me VERY angry some days ebcause he is virtualy untainable and sassy...but he loves me unconditionally.

I ahev mercerdes...a 12 year old money cat..shes a real sweet cat that we foudn at a shelter..they told us we shoudlnt adopt her as she loived on thes treets most of her life and wouldnt make a good pet..she is the sweetest most loyal cat I have ever owned.

We have 4 rats. 2 males and 2 females. Rufus and Ruppert are the boys and theya re amazing..botha roe a little over a year old and are rolly poly piglets that love to ride on your shoulders (theya re both hooded standard ears). Then we have Ruby (who is a pew standard ear) and Bella (who is a blue hooded dumbo eared)... the girls dont like to be held all that much..they prefer to bounce around their cage. All 4 of the fuzzbutts can always make me laugh.

And last but not least i Hvae Lola...who is my hairless hamster.. yes..a hairless hamster.. she is the FUNNIEST little thing I have ever seen...she kinda looks like stich off lilo and stitch!!! shes all pink and smooth..she just has a fe scraggly wiskers. She is the friendliest hamster i have ever had..she loevs to be held.

My epts know all of my secrets and I love then dearly..we are getting a kitten soon as my mom has a mother cat and three kittens stray behind her house. If she cant get them we will tkae on..if not we plan to adopt a kitten as we just need another new furkid in the house...they kind of make up for my deep need to have a baby..which of course is greatly effected by this damn phobia.

    to sum it up..animals RULE!
    And now I\'m glad I didn\'t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I\'d of had to miss the dance

I have a Golden Retriever who's 8...name o' "Newsie" which is short for "newspaper carriers". There's a cool Disney musical about it - you can rent it sometime, it's fun.

We had two cats that we got at the SPCA together: Biscuit (a VERY fat tabby shorthair) and Forrest (black& white) named after "Forrest Gump" because the cat is cute and cuddly and the dumbest thing breathing. They're friends. Then we adopted my niece's pure white cat, "Polar" cuz she had to move. Biscuit took to Polar ok, but stupid Forrest STILL hates him and they fight all the time - after 3 years together. Polar goes outside and brats around the neighbourhood...he seems to be the only outdoor cat in our (rather upscale) neighbourhood. He climbs on peoples' roofs and goes into their garages and such. Everyone seems to like him though.

Just recently being married, I still count our 2 dogs as partly "my pets" because I grew up with them and just very recently moved out of my Dad's house. Still though I count them because out of my family I'm the closest one to them. Their names are Goldie and Rusty, and both are mutts, Goldie is a peikeneese (sp?)/poodle mix and Rusty is a terrier/beagle mix. I love them both tho they drive me nuts sometimes! Goldie is 10 and Rusty we estimate is maybe 9 to 11 years old tho we aren't sure of the exact date as he wasa stray. They both were there for me when I was sick, Goldie would lay down on the couch with me and Rusty just would lay nearby. Rusty is a great guard dog, he always patrols the perimeter at night, and Goldie is just good for keeping company, wherever there is a person Goldie is around!

My 2 new pets I have recently aquired through marriage lol are 2 bunny rabbits. I named them Fawn (who is a brown fawn color, she looks like a little wild rabbit) and Nenwing (who is all black). They are both cuddly and just fun to watch hop around and frisk about. I've always loved animals, and they do help just being there.

    Great thread!

    I have 2 cats and 1 dog!

First there is Roo, who is almost six years old. She is an orange shorthaired cat, that looks like a little lynx. She is so cuddly and wonderful, I got her from the SPCA when she was 3 months old.

Then there is Lilo (my mom has Stitch!). She is a little kitty with a HUGE attitude. She's grey and white, and she's not much for cuddling, except at night. She is about 2 1/2 years old. My ex-husband rescued the two kittens b/c someone was going to kill then. They used to on a farm. She really likes to lick my hair while I'm sleeping and it drives me crazy.

Then there is the dog. Her name is Sofie, and she is 7 months old. She was supposed to be a purebred Beagle, but it is apparent now, that there is also something else in her. I got her for my son, for his 4th birthday. She is a little suck, but she is stilling peeing and pooping on my floors, and it is p*&^ing me off. If it wasn't for those great floppy ears, and loving eyes....

We used to have lots of fish too. Alas, one day I came home from work, and the tank had sprung a leak, and there was 10 gals of water on my son's bedroom floor, andalot of dead fish I plan on getting another fish tank in th efuture, but not guppies, since all they do is reporduce...lol!
