I usually breath deeply, sip a soft drink, nibble on crackers (if I can eat), pace around my house, and sometimes end up sitting in front of the toilet just to make sure I'm there if it does happen even though I know it wont. I will do anything to avoid v'ing or having to take phenergan to stop it because it makes me tired.

Just wondering what everyone else did to prevent it??

I usually take half a Gravol if there is any around, or I just breathe deep and sit on the floor in my room or the bathroom near the toilet.

I pace, run around outside, or bite my lip. I also have to be left alone. Splashing cold water on my face helps. Last winter when I was sick I went into the basement where it was cooler and where nobody was and just paced around the family room. This is embarrassing, but sometimes I even talk to myself like a coach giving players a pep talk!

Anything I can! haha! Fresh air usually helps a bit. A cold washcloth on my face or back of my neck. If I can get myself relaxed enough to lay down and do some really deep relaxation, this helps a lot. I will chew gum or eat crackers or sip ginger ale if it's mild nausea.

I usually take cyclizine or domperidon (don't know if it's the right word in english ) It takes effect within 30 minutes, and the advantage of cyclizine is that it has a sedative effect

Take some Kaoline and morphine and lie very still, trying to keep my mind on something else but the nausea.

I normally only feel sick at night when I can't think of anything else, I try to take my mind off it but it doesnt seem to work. Fresh air sometimes helps, sometimes a drink of water, just talking to someone works wonders.

I usually sip flat pop or water, and I tend to pace a lot
and try to regulate my breathing. I also splash my face with
water and walk around outside. Usually my nonna (the only person in my
family who takes my phobia seriously) will talk to me, tell me to
breathe in and out and to think positively.

i try never to take any thing but when my fear sets in, it is the panicking. I will take xanax every so often but again, it is not something i prefer.

I also walk around, sip water, sit and watch television, and yes, talk to myself like i am a coach. Nothing to be embarrased about!!!.

I try to think of something in my life, like a happy place, and keep thinking of that. I tried to relax. Pilates or Yoga in which we strengthen our minds is very important.

My friends and family are always telling me that if I v* I'd probably feel so much better, but I'd rather feeel horrible than v*!!! If I just feel nauseous it makes me feel better if I lay down in a comfortable position and rub my tummy or I take ALOT of tums! I try to drink water too. If I'm really panicking I sit in the bathroom and turn on the faucet so nobody hears me in case I do v* I usually start crying (not hard crying, just a few tears) and praying that I won't v*. I used to feel like such a baby because I didn't know that there were other people out there afraid of v* too.
