    Hey Guys,

I have heard IBS mentioned many times here on our forum, and I was hoping I could get a little more info from you all. Over the last 3 months I have had a 5 bouts of severe d*. They have all been sudden and very painful. They have been occuring about 1/2 an hour to 2 hours after I ate, and last for about 3 hours (the severe part) but are mild for a day or so. They events have been weeks apart, and I have eaten different foods everytime. It is making me super paranoid to go out. I have been out on every occasion and had to rush home. It seems that water and pepto are the only thing that calms it down.

Does this sound famillar to anyone? Anybody have some advice? I hate going to doctors, I am very paranoid about being in a hospital.

Thanks for any advice or info!

It does sound like it could be IBS, but you should never just assume it's IBS without talking to a doctor. IBS often acts a lot like more serious problems, and you don't want to over look something that might be more serious. You really should call your doctor and get their opinion.

As far as my IBS goes, my triggers are spicy food and dairy. A lot of times, I can eat some dairy with no problem, but if I have been eating a lot of it over time I will have problems. That could be why you don't notice any one particular food that triggers it. Also, it is highly related to stress. Just worrying about having an attack will actually cause me to have one.

There is a lot more I could talk to you about, but I don't want to convince you it's IBS unless you have a doctor's opinion.
