    Default Probiotics....

I was just wondering if anyone here has heard anything about probiotics as a way of preventing stomach upset and sv*? I know that they are good for helping you get OVER one. In fact I'm going to buy some of the probiotic powder for my daughter as soon as I can get to a store to help re-balance her gut now that she can drink and eat again from her sickness. But I was wondering about preventing. I've read a lot of natural stuff and they talk a lot about how nearly 75% of your immunity in located in your intestinal area and if it is "out of whack" your whole immune system is too.
    Just curious.

Great query! I would be interested to know too. It's often difficult to get an answer based on scientific evidence!

I take them because one of my aunt's does and she hasn't been sick from an sv* in her adult life. Other things have of course made her v*, but VERY rarely weren't related to a virus. In fact I don't think she's ever v* in my lifetime (although it's only 15 years, but still). She also doesn't get any colds, infections, etc. She got me hooked on them and I think they're a pretty good idea just in case.

I don't like probiotics because they make my stomach feel bloated and gassy. I would suggest eating one tub of yoghurt a day, as I feel I do not need the boosted amount of good bacteria contained in the capsules you can buy. However its better to try it for yourself.

I live in the UK and I take Multibiotica Immune which also have probiotics. Been taking them for a number of months and so far I have not caught anything!
