I'm hoping that's what my problem is. When I got up this morning I felt fine - but I thought I was really hungry. When I got to work, I ate something, then my intestines starting going all yucky - quite normal with my IBS. But usually it stops after about 15-20 minutes. It has now been going on for about 2 hours. My lower stomach keeps cramping and gurgling, and I have had to go to the bathroom a few times already. Not quite d*, but not quite normal either. It has been a while since I had an IBS attack, so I really hope that's all this is. I feel awful - I hope I'm not getting sick. I would probably just brush it off as IBS if there weren't so many sv going around lately. It could be the burritos I had for dinner last night. But they usually just make me feel gassy. This time I don't feel gassy, just yucky. And now I am starting to feel kind of n*. These last few weeks have really sucked!!

Sillygirl, I believe if you really did have something you would have vomited a long time ago. How long have you been sick? Stomach flu's don't drag on for days or a week without vomiting; sometimes you don't vomit on a flu, but it can make you feel horrid. If you did have one you would be bed-ridden and on your knees in the toilet, depending on the severity. You are probably making yourself sick. Like my father always told me: your mind controls your body. If you think you feel sick, then you are going to be sick. If you eat something and you assume it's going to make you sick, then it will happen. These thoughts of phantom nausea are merely conjured and not real. You might have a little gas, or some cramping, but so what? Using the bathroom is not abnormal, even if you have to use it a few times. It doesn't mean you having anything. If your stool looks suspicious, but isn't diarrhea, why fret? It honestly means nothing.

I assure you: If you honesty did have a stomach flu, you would know it.

    Try to relax.

It hasn't been constant for the last few weeks. Some days are fine, others are bad. My mom always said the same thing to me - mind over matter. I am trying to stay busy at work and not think about it. I kind of feel like I'm getting hungry again now. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Hey-I hope that you are feeling better now. I have IBS too and I have felt how you are feeling today. I can go several weeks without an attack, but then its like something sets it off and I have to deal with feeling cruddy for a few days. I wouldnt think that you have an SV, not unless you had been in close contact with someone when you knew that they had an SV. I like to think that most adults dont just pick up SV's as easily as children, simply because we keep our hands clean and out of our eyes, nose and mouth.

Keep us posted on how you are doing.
