Hi hope everyone is cool.. was just wondering, have any of the ladies
here tried Yasmin birth control pills? Because I have awful problems
with the pill and the mini pil isn't great either, I take them for really
bad period pains. So now my doctor has prescribed me something
called Yasmin which she says wont make me V* like the first pul I
tried did... she says the side effects are minimal.. I am wary though
as when I was on the combined puill three years ago my life was hell
and it ended in making me retch for the first time in 15 years
because i was apparently experiencing morning sickness... ANYWAY I
need something to deal with these awful periods and weve tried
EVERYTHING else. She said Its very expensive and they don't give it
to many people, i don't know what to do...? Any advice would be
    brilliant!!! thanks xxxxxxxxxxxx

I've tried every single pill out there, including Yasmin. I don't remember anything spectacular about it, good or bad... I don't remember it being very expensive or even that I was given a rare bcp. Everyone's different, and you may just have reactions to the pill in general. I am on Seasonale right now, where you take the pill straight for 3 months, so far I really like it, although it is expensive and isn't covered by my insurance. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I was on Yasmin a few years ago and recently thought about getting on it again (as it was the only pill I didn't gain weight on...don't worry only about 5 pounds). My doctor said Yasmin isn't prescribed "as much" because it has a diuretic in it. Apparently that can raise potassium levels which in some women can be dangerous. I'm not exactly sure why it can be dangerous, and I am certainly not a doctor, but I'll bet you're DR knows your medical history and thinks this is the right pill for you. I have several friends that swear by it and have had no problems. If you're really concerned call you DR or speak to his/her nurse to get more info. Good Luck!!
