Hi there!
It has been several months since I logged on, but I wanted to say a quick hello and give a real positive up date!
My big news is: I am pregnant with my first baby! My husband and I are sooooo excited!Due date: January 1 2006! I was very nervous about becoming pregnant because of the nausea and morning sickness. But, I didn't want that to stop me in doing what I had always wanted to do: be a mom! So, I just put those worried feelings aside, let nature take its course and sure enough, we are pregnant. I am 19 weeks along now--time flies! It has been a very easy pregnancy so far--no morning sickness--just some icky feelings toward food the first few weeks (the key is not getting empty in your tummy--lots of little snacks throughout the day!) --but let me tell you, when the 2nd trimester comes, food has never tasted better! Especially orange juice! And the latest craving has been chicken salad on crossiants.
Prior to getting pregnant, I went to see a therapist and I also spent 3 mo. with a hypnotherapist. It was a great experience. He was so understanding of my fear and we took baby steps in talking about it, visualizing and understanding why I was so scared. He made me many tapes to listen to (tailored to me and my fear) and I can still pop those in whenever I need a boost.
I just want to tell you all that I will never think "oh well" about this fear--it is valid and scary (i know). But, times can get better and I never thought I could put me aside and really 'step up' to the whole baby thing. But, I am so happy.
Hugs to you all! Jennifer
