My wife was making breakfast and one of the eggs was clearly rotten.
She threw away the batch and put new eggs into a new bowl for
scrambling. The other eggs smelled OK but since they all came from the
same carton, I am so worried that I am going to get sick and v*. She
cooked them well and they tasted good but I am queasy already - or
could it just be my mind???

    Help....

I would say this one is probably in your mind. The mind is a powerful thing, friend. Don't worry too much, if the other eggs tasted and smelled fine, chances are very high that there was just that one bad one. I worry about that stuff too, and will get anxious over them, even queasy, but over the past 10 or 11 years, I've discovered most of it is my mind. Take care!!

With eggs, I would imagine that it is strictly an egg to egg thing. I mean, one egg in a carton could be rotten, but another might be fine. Think of a bag of potatos. Have you ever bought one with that damn rotten potato at the bottom of the bag? Yet, all of the other potatos are fine. Not to mention, I am sure she cooked the eggs through, killing any salmonella that might have existed (but I doubt any did).

Yeah I think you'll be fine I mean have you ever cracked open an egg to find like blood or part of a chicken developed in there? I have, I just threw that away and used some other eggs. If they were cooked properly, smelled fine, and tasted fine then chances are you are going to be okay!

How are you now Lewis? I am like that to. Lately I have been taking chances, eating something that I am not too sure of and eating it any ways. I was fine. Mind over matter that is what I said to myself. I freaked out after I ate it but change my thinking to a postive one. I know that this won't continue but it felt good for that moment.

You will be fine - if an egg is bad it smells bad and I'm sure you would notice the bad taste too. I'm always extra careful where eggs are concerned and throw any away after BB date has expired, but my friend sometimes eats them up to three weeks after best before date and is always fine. Just go by the smelll and taste if that's ok, then I'm pretty sure the egg is just fine.
