We tried a new Mexican restaurant tonight and my burrito tasted funny. I think it was the beans - it was just a bean and cheese burrito. My husband said it was just some kind of seasoning to the beans, but I have never tasted anythin glike it before. Everyone else thought the food was terrific, but I was the only one that ate the beans (my hubby just took a bite of mine when I said it tasted funny). I forced myself to eat about half of it, and now I am freaking out. I feel okay (as okay an IBS sufferercan feel after a burrito) but I am scared it was bad or something and is going to make me sick. Can refried beans go bad?

I have no idea if refried beans can go bad, but I just wanted to suggest trying not to let yourself think about it much. I know that when I do this, I end up causing a tummy ache in myself. You would probably make yourself more sick worrying than refried beans could make you. If you've never eaten there before it's probably just a different taste than you are used to. I do this all the time, too. I think way too hard about how my food tastes, trying to find something wrong with it. I am sure everything was fine with your burrito. Hope you are feeling well

Hope you are feeling better. I have found that with the 2 Mexican restaurants where I live, both of their beans taste different. I doubt there was anything wrong with the burrito. Like Shiva said, it was probably just a taste that you haven't had before.
