It's this sort of thing that was why I was so nervous about living in dorms!

I heard a noise earlier that sounded like someone gagging really
loudly. The bathroom is two doors down from my room so I thought that
if someone were in there....you know I might be able to hear it though
the walls because I can hear it when the toilets flush.

The air conditioning was running at the time all I can think is that if
someone were v* at the time the particles could get like sucked into
the air vents and spread to my room.

I don't even know if that's what the noise was, but I'm too afraid to leave my room to find out! What should I do?

I think you are worried about nothing. I don't think any particles would be able to come into the room, so don't even worry about that, and like you said, you don't even know what you heard, so it could of been absoutley nothing. And even if it was someone v*, 90% of the time becauese you are in a college dorm, its from drinking. Please don't worry, I am so sure you have nothing to worry about.

    Thanks for your response.

I know I'm being paranoid I just can't help it. I know a lot of people
are out tonight so it could be from drinking. My roommate is doing rush
and she told me this morning that they find out which
sororities/fraternities gave them bids tonight so there could be some
parties. I haven't been going out very much these past few days because
I've been freaking exhausted. I feel kind of boring, like I should be
out doing something like everyone else but I'm actually glad to have
the room to myself right now since I'm panicy.

I'm trying to watch tv and calm down, but you know....it's just so hard.

I can only imagine how hard it is, and I comend you on taking that step and going away to college, it is a great accomplishment. I think that if you are feeling panicy, you should just stay in and relax. Starting school is a stressful time, and I think once you get used to things, it will be different. I wish you luck, and I know you will be fine, just try to take it easy.

Maybe this will ease your mind about air vents. Air comes out of these vents, the vents do not suck air in. the only place a heating or air unit would be able to suck air in is at the return. You will be fine!!
