Thread: Please help!

    Default Please help!

I'm new to this site, and I'm terrified right now. I have the flu. It's not the stomach flu I don't think. I have a fever, chills, cough, headache, no appetite, and slight nausea. I have this since last night. If this isn't already bad enough, I'm on vacation in LA, so I don't have my parents with me, I'm staying with my cousin who I'm not that comfortable around. Also, I'm supposed to fly home tomorrow and I'm terrified of flying, so being sick will make it even worse. Will I v* from the flu? How can I stop myself from freaking out on the plane tomorrow and making my situation even worse?

People dont usually v* from flu/cold. Nausea is quite common though so if possible take an anti emetic or a travel sickness tablet you can buy otc. This might also help to relax you so that you dont get too worked up about the flight home. Other than that just dose yourself up with regular flu/cold remedies such as painkillers, decongestant etc. Hope you feel much better very soon.

Like Claire said, the stomach flu (noro) and influenza are two totally different illnesses. If you're coughing/sneezing/fever/chills it sounds more like influenza. Take emetrol or a dramamine before the flight and you should be fine! If it's really worrying you could you change your flight to a few more days out so you can rest up and get better?
