    Default Please Help

I am stressing out so badly right now. I just started a job in a preschool and am going to pursue my masters in the fall. I don't know if I can handle this because I am afraid I am going to get the stomach bug or throw up from working with kids. I don't know what to do. I don't know if I can do this.. Someone please help... I'm so upset about all of this..

Hey there, how're you doing now?
Don't worry it's okay and totally natural to be afraid, don't beat yourself up over it. If working with children is what you truly love to do dont let this phobia stop you.
    Stay strong!

Trust me, I've been there! I went through a very rough time in March with my anxiety and ha attacks many times a day.
I understand how tough it is but I really really encourage you to stay busy, remind yourself that anxiety is just a feeling, and like any other feeling it to will pass.
I still feel anxious many days but its been quite some time since I've ha an attack *knocks on wood* lol
I know you can get through this!

Thank you! The tough part is that I am working at the preschool and surrounded by the chance of getting the stomach bug. It really scares me and so I am paralyzed by fear. I'm not really sure how to handle that. Maybe this is the wrong profession for me.

I'm only 18 but I've worked with children multiple times in the past (as a babysitter, and as a camp counselor) and have not gotten an sv* from the kids. Children honestly get sick a lot less than we think as emets haha. I think I v* twice the entire time I was in preschool and only one was actually an sv* if I'm remembering correctly. You may be able to tell your coworkers you have trouble with v* so if the situation arises you don't have to be in direct contact with the children.
Don't let your phobia tell you not to have a career you enjoy, if you really want to work with children don't let anything stop you

I have worked as a preschool teacher for about 5 years now. I've been thrown up on, next to and had to clean it up a few times and I have NEVER gotten it. The rule in my classroom was that upon entering in the morning everyone washed their hands (I taught them how). We washed after using the bathroom, after going to the playground, before lunch and before going home. You'll relax once you get started and have a routine. Just being with kids, in the room, etc. CAN'T GIVE YOU A SV*!!! You are no safer at home worrying about it than you are in their classroom with clean hands. You'll be great!

P.S. In every circumstance with the v*ing I KNEW it was coming, it was never a surprise, so don't let the fact that I had to deal with v* worry you. With kids, it's rarely a surprise, they start with the pale face, holding tummy thing. I am fine with other kid's sickness, so I was the one to hold them, rub their backs, etc.
