    Default Poorly toddler :(

    Hey guys
I'm feeling very calm about this which is a first and I'm proud of myself tbh! My best friend is living with his cousin atm and his cousin's son is poorly and v*ing. I was playing with him yesterday, feeding him chocolate which I shouldn't have done as he's only 2 (oopsie) lol. He's been unwell for a few days now with a bad throat and a cold but now he's unable to hold food or drink down. I'm worried about the little cutie tbh and it sucks that I'm scared to go round there! I'm also worried about my best friend catching it because he's had a flu/cold the past week or so (as have I -.-). He's usually good at avoiding tummy bugs tbh but I'm still a little worried. We're going to college on Monday together and I just need a little reassurance tbh.
Any replies will be much appreciated

I think you will be fine. It honestly might not even be a bug. Everytime my daughter has either ear infection, strep throat, or a sinus infection she will v* .. I have caught almost every cold/flu she has had and I never get sick. It's just since they are little it affects them differently. I always know when the v* starts its time to take her to the doctor for some medicine. That could be his problem also hope he is feeling better soon!

Toddlers often v from things older children and adults don't. The poor little guy is probably feverish and stuffed up. That's most likely what's making him v. Although, colds are airborne, most adults don't v from them. Poor little guy!

Thank you both for the replies
He's managed to keep a banana down for the time being. Fingers crossed it stays down! That's the trouble with little kids, they catch everything from putting things in their mouths. I was going round after him yesterday making sure he kept things out of his mouth because I was worried about him catching more bugs and stuff. I told my friend that its probably just a toddler thing and nothing to worry about, but who knows.
    Thanks again guys

Don't worry too much! I think kids sometimes v* when they have colds because they can't get rid of mucus and stuff like adults can. Doesn't really make it any easier, but he probably doesn't have a bug!

Also, it's kind of a fine line with kids putting things in their mouths. My sister calls my niece (she's one) a goat because she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. Obviously we stop her from putting anything too gross in there, but it's good for them to build up their immune system too. Keeping things too clean can be bad in the long run, and kids are always sick anyway lol.

Thank you all for the replies
He carried on v* all day yesterday and all night apparently he's a little better today but v* twice more this morning and that'a the last I heard of it. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see if anybody else starts showing signs of a tummy bug. If they're all fine, I'll hopefully be able to go over and see how the little guy's doing
My friend told me he's just stayed out of the way and stayed in his room to avoid getting v* on lol eww. I'm surprisingly calm about all of this, I'm usually freaking out like crazy!
    Thank you all again

It really truly could be from the cold symptoms. Kids don't blow their noses so that mucous goes into their tummies and makes them nauseous. No fun! Poor kid. I am sure he'll start to feel better soon. If not they may want to check him for strep, which would also cause the sore throat and the v*ing. Keep us posted!

Yeah, I reckon its because of his cold and bad throat too. He's had 4 episodes on v* today apparently and I think he's asleep now, bless him! I get so worried about kids when they're unwell
My friend said he thinks he'll be much better tomorrow after a good night's sleep. Fingers crossed!
Thank you all lots for the replies and stuff

Definitely could be from his throat and cold. My little one has V about once a day since she got her current cold (and shared it with Mama unfortunately) and one was just a half hour ago. The mucus upsets their tummys and the coughing can trigger their gag reflexes. And I haven't had any N with it.
