Default Really not feeling well - again

Hey guys. Either my hypochondria is getting worse or there's something actually wrong.

As I've said before recently, I've been under tremendous pressure recently having broken up with an abusive ex and having to face him in court etc. I'm also on antibiotics for acne which have made me feel pretty horrible recently too. I'm exhausted as I've been working a lot too, moving house, etc.

Over the past few days I've had some signs of a possible UTI but nothing to cause concern. I've had stabbing pains in my mid back, and aching all over my back. It has felt hot to pee sometimes (not all the time) and I'm having to strain to wee. No frequency though and no dark or foul-smelling urine.

Tonight things have got quite worse and the back discomfort is radiating to where my ribs are. I feel n*/sickly, a bit shivery, and generally under the weather. Sex is painful too (sorry for TMI). Right now I feel this uncomfortable dull ache 'sitting' just above my pubic bone, running through into my v***** (again sorry for TMI). I've had the abdominal discomfort you get with diarrhoea but not actually had d*. Appetite is fine, hungry now but daren't eat.

But I'm not sure whether to put these symptoms down to stress, exhaustion and/or antibiotic usage, or if I'm actually ill. I don't mind a UTI but I don't want a stomach b*.

Anyone got any ideas please? Do you have to have the frequency and dark smelly urine for it to be a UTI/kidney infection? Or are my symptoms suggestive of a UTI anyway?

It doesn't sound like a tummy bug at all to me. It would be hard for you to get a UTI or kidney infection since you're already on antibiotics. Try to drink a lot of water to keep everything flushed out. Eat some yogurt or take some probiotics to replenish the good bacteria in your intestines (antibiotics kill those out). If there is a lack of probiotics it can cause some bloating, gas, constipation, pain, etc. you should probably give your doc a call and see what he/she says and if they would like to do a urinalysis just to be safe.

I had something like this last week, with backache, abdominal pains that came and went, pelvic pressure. To me it felt like the start of a UTI. I had one after my DD was born and it felt similar. I drank lots of water and cranberry juice for a couple of days, and it went away. I hope you feel much better soon.

I think u should see a doc soon, and tell them your problems. To me, it sounds like it COULD be an std. I am not saying it is, but I have had the same kind of symptoms before and thats what it turned out to be. Then again, you could just be a lil dehydrated. Drink water water water!

Thanks everyone - well I worked out what the ill feeling was. I have a wound infection.. Basically I had an op on my foot a month ago and in the past week the wound began to open, drain pus, etc. I ignored it and didn't put two and two together that the ill feeling could be to do with it. When I went to hospital yesterday they confirmed it was a skin infection. Waiting for a swab test result to know what antibiotics I can be put on. All very unpleasant.
