Unhappy Not feeling so hot - almost d*

Sooooo this morning I woke up feeling like I was getting a cold - sore throat (not horrible, but definitely there) with that gross mucus stuff, aches, tiredness, chills, etc. but it wasn't so bad so I went to school. My lower abdomen felt a bit weird and rumbly when I was there, but eventually it kind of tapered off. Then I get home and have a bm, fine, and I was starving so I ate a bagel w/hummus and have been snacking on some mixed dried fruit trail mix stuff. I've also been drinking green tea for my throat. Then all of the sudden it felt like I had to go #2 again so I was like fine, whatever, and I went and it wasn't quite d* but almost...it came out a lot faster than normal for me and it also had that patented d* smell (gross, I know, I know).

I got my period about a week and a half ago and I would say it "officially" ended a couple days ago. This has happened to me like a week after my period's started before, but with like actual d* but only really really rarely. I probably wouldn't even care about this now except I don't want to spend all night on the toilet since I have a midterm on friday that's really important and then we're leaving town saturday and I don't want to be ill. I don't have any pepto bismol or anything else...are there foods/drinks I should eat or avoid to help? The trail mix has ginger pieces so I thought that'd be good but apparently not lol. Also I haven't taken probiotics in like 2 weeks and I usually take them daily...could that be causing this? Idk...I haven't had any problems not taking them for the last two weeks so I don't know why it would just come up all of the sudden.

Update: Oh god, I can feel it's gonna happen again really soon. I'm starting to feel kind of n* too. Help...I'm so scared. I don't want this to happen. Why on earth would I have to get sick with two things on one day?! I just want to curl up in a ball and cry.

Update 2: I'm drinking some sparkling lemon/lime water but I don't know if this'll make it better or worse. I'm shaking so badly. I feel cold but I don't know what's happening since I was getting early cold-symptoms earlier and I don't know what's happening because of what! Also my appetite's completely gone...even though it was fine an hour or two ago. Just the thought of food is making me feel sick. I keep getting the urge to pee (right after I just peed) and then I do, and it's a lot (even though I just went?) which usually happens when I'm having d*. I just want to feel okay...

Hello. This is me tonight. Had cold symptoms for a week. Last night I d* and now 30mins ago v* there must be something going around. Just keep calm if you can. Controlling breathing helps. I took immodium but nothing for n* if you can sleep then do. We all need to sleep this off. I am scared to drink but forcing myself. Can't think of food. Using lots of antiseptic. Hope you feel a bit better x

I'm so so sorry you're feeling like this. You can get d* just from having a cold. Your system is already making sooo much mucus. Also, dried fruit on its own can give you d*. So combine the dried fruit and the mucus dripping down your throat, that can wreak havoc on your digestive system. I had the same thing happen to me today. Start of a cold and then I ate a ton of dried cranberries. Had something near to d* and then panicked. Even though I had been feeling okay before all of a sudden I felt terrible. I'm sure it was just my anxiety causing trouble. I feel much better now *knock on wood*. Also whenever I have a cold I pee every half hour or less the first day or 2 of a cold. Maybe it's part of the bodies response? Also with panic I find myself peeing very frequently. I have a nervous bladder I guess. I hope you're feeling better!! Hopefully it's just your anxiety getting the best of you. Sending healing thoughts in your direction!!!

Ugh. My throat's getting worse :/ I've been eating halls drops but yeah no appetite as well, and my neck is killing me (as usually happens w/a cold). And I also got a bm again that had all the 'symptoms' of diarrhea w/o actually being liquid-y. Idk, maybe you're right about the mucus, but it seems weird since I don't have a stuffy nose or anything (yet). I can't focus on anything, any of my homework, because I'm so jittery (about a lot of things, this is just one of them) and have been all week and it's making focusing on 30 pages of philosophy reading difficult!

mondayschild86 man that sounds horrible - really hoping this doesn't turn into that, and I hope you feel better soon. Do you think you got sick from the cold itself or did you catch another bug/eat something weird?

Oh man sounds like a bad cold is coming on, especially since you're already under a ton of stress. That totally weakens your immune system. And don't forget the laxative quality of dried fruit. Once I ate a bunch of dried apricots and spent the next few hours on the toilet.

Well this was just a tiny bit of pineapple and papaya (I think) in a mix of nuts & chocolate chips, etc. and I've eaten about 20x as much at once and nothing's ever happened! I do however get stomach issues if I eat too many apricots or prunes, but I don't think that this is it, especially since I felt a bit off in the morning, way before I'd eaten anything.

Idk, it's like one second I feel better and then my stomach and abdomen starts hurting bad and I'm shaking and feeling like I'm going to have d* I also haven't really slept these past few days (my mind's been in its super creative-analytical mode that makes it difficult to do normal things) and I could feel my system weakening so I'm not surprised tbh. A cold (as long as it's not terrible) I can deal with, but the stomach issues is where I lose it.

Aww. I don't think its the cold as have had that for a week, this stuff has just come on. It may be something I have eaten. I don't usually eat much but today went against that rule so could have caused irritation. I hope you are not getting the same. Wishing you all the best don't worry about the paper you need to sort out your health. I usually find the net and TV to be great distractions. Please rest, I haven't been. Best wishes xx Will be hanging around for a bit

Ugh...feeling worse again now. It's 3am here and I've got a midterm tomorrow that I really need to do well on. I was actually feeling okay today, stayed home from class and I was a bit lethargic but my sore throat was mostly gone and I haven't gotten any congestion. My stomach was feeling hungry but nothing sounded appetizing so I basically didn't eat. But then for dinner I decided guacamole and chips sounded good, with soy ice cream at the end. I felt fine but now my stomach is really hurting and feels horrible. I also feel sinus pressure which makes no sense since my sinuses are not clogged. UGH.

I'm so afraid I've contracted the flu my mom had last year where she felt like she was getting a cold, then she felt better, then she spent that night v*ing the whole time and could barely move for 2 weeks afterwards. Common sense says that I'm pretty sure there isn't a flu going around now...but still. What if I've managed to contract a sv on top of everything else?!

Stopping the probiotics can absolutely mess with your digestive tract, not in the sense that it will make you v* or anything, but it can upset your "insides" (as I call it). It doesn't sound like you're sick with anything that will make you v*, the upset-ness of your insides is probably because you're so nervous about it, try to be confident that it's just a cold and that it will pass in a few days. It really doesn't sound like you have the flu, and it REALLY doesn't sound like you got a sv. What your mom had isn't exactly a normal or average sv's symptoms, so I wouldn't use that as too much of a comparison. Also sometimes if I haven't eaten in a while because nothing sounded good, once I do eat, my stomach gets all crampy and hurts from gas pain and whatnot. I'm not sure what the reasoning behind that is but it happens to me too. Try some ginger ale, when I drink ginger ale it helps me relax because for one, I'm ingesting ginger which is obviously good for the insides, but it also puts carbonation in me. I don't know how to burp, so when I feel that rumbling in my belly I can dismiss it as just gas and not sickness, since I just filled up with carbonation. All in all, I feel your pain. I just had a cold a couple months ago and panicked like it was the end of the world. I really don't think you have anything to worry about as far as v*ing.

Oh my goodness. I hope you feel better. Yes stopping probiotics can mess up your digestive tract. Sounds like you're having a lot of anxiety. And that can absolutely cause all of your symptoms. Over thinking feeling well for your midterm. I do that too.... frequently. <3<3 I am really sending healing thoughts your way. Good luck on your midterm!

You guys are ridiculously reassuring, thank you soooo much. I am nervous about my midterm but for some reason not nearly as nervous as for the first one in this class (where I was straight out panicking about missing the bus, etc. all night long) although maybe I should be, lol! I started probiotics again yesterday so that's probably causing some awkwardness as well. And I'm realizing actually I think the stomachache is from being really hungry...which I can't do much about now. I guess once I ate a bit my stomach was saying that that wasn't enough! Hopefully that's the issue at least. I'm going out of town tomorrow for the day and I don't want to be worried about this stuff. Most of the time I'm not anxious about things like that, only if there's some reason to be (like not feeling well).

But seriously, you guys are so nice and helpful!!!
