Hello! So, right now i'm FREAKING OUT. This is what happened: I had to go really bad, so I went into a public restroom. I never do that. So, of course the ONE time i do, there's some lady v* in the sink. Of course. Well, at least it looked like that. When I first walked in she had water running and she was standing over the sink. It looked like she was either rinsing her mouth or v*. Then she kept wiping her mouth with paper towels. i went straight into a stall and hid until she left. When I came back out, i looked into one of the sinks and there were "particles" so to speak. They didn't nescisarrily look like v*, but idk. I didn't notice an odor either. But I'm still pretty sure she v*. Do you think she was contagious? Could it have been morning sickness? Or food poisoning. Sorry, I know none of you know, but it's just that i need reassurance rn. Anyway, thanks for any answers <3

Maybe she was just done brushing her teeth/rinsing her mouth? Also, there are several non-contagious things that can make someone v* (pregnancy, medication, food poisoning), so I'm fairly sure you're not exposed. Especially if you weren't around exactly at the moment she was v*, the particles fall down pretty quickly. If you washed your hands well afterwards and closed the faucet with a paper towel, you should be fine. As for being in the clear, most sv* have an incubation time of around 12h to 33h. Usually we consider that 48 hours after the last possible exposure (e.g. let's say you didn't wash you hands after this and ate something with your hands 5 hours later, you'd start counting from that last event, not the first exposure). After 72hours you can consider yourself completely in the clear from that possible exposure.

I thought tooth brushing or mouth rinsing too. usually you can tell if someone just v, (possible trigger word) you can smell it. I think you are totally fine. you didn't touch it.

I think you are very brave to use the toilet, I would have turned tail and run if I had seen a woman vomiting into the sink no matter how much I needed to go! I think you will be ok, like you said she may not have been vomiting, she could have been using a mouthwash before going to the dentist or going to an interview? Surely somebody would shut themselves into a cubicle and vomit in a toilet rather than in a sink where everybody can see

Jeez, if she was vomiting, maybe she didn't have time to get to the toilet??? No reason to kick someone.

I'd be inclined to think that it's not an exposure and maybe she was just pregnant or something.
