    Default Celexa/Citalopram

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well

I just started taking Citalopram (Celexa) 10 mg to help with some anxiety that I have been struggling with. Hoping that since Im working with a great therapist to deal with the anxiety and slight depression combined with the medication is going to work for me but of course, I worry about the side effects of the medicine. The psychiatrist that I met with who prescribed it to me said this is her number one choice for patients with GI upset or worry about feeling sick.

Anyone have any experience taking this? I started it yesterday after it sitting in my cabinet for 2 months. I know its for the best.

Hey! I took citalopram for ages and had no GI issues whatsoever even during starting it. I eventually came off it cos it gave me crazy dreams and shaking but I'm told that's rare and just appears to be the way I react to all meds! I genuinely think you'll be absolutely fine x

I take it every night. Doesn't cause any problems.

I used to take Celexa and was also concerned about stomach issues, but I was completely fine. Be consistent with it though, I used to forget to take it for days at a time, and that would cause me to feel very light-headed and off.

I have always wondered about celexa, this is good to know. I tried zoloft and that made me feel awful and so did prozac.

I took it for 2 days before I stopped and tossed the pills. They made me feel SUPER weird - I did feel n*, no appetite, and just a very weird sense of being in a total fog. However, lots of people love this drug, so if you're feeling fine, stick with it!

Everyone reacts differently. My dad takes a very high dose of Celexa every day and never had any problems.

I"m going to request this tomorrow.... Someone recommended that or Lexapro. I can't decide which one I should try.
