    Default Virus advise please!!

Evening all, I'm having a mini freak out! I'm from the uk. My nana has recently moved into a care home. We went to visit tonight. We were in the communal lounge. A gent was sitting a few chairs away. After we had been there 90 mins he v* over the floor. In a mad panic I got up and ran out of the room. But he was sitting by the door. So I had to walk past the pile of mess to get out. I went back in the room after it was cleaned. But left shortly after. I don't know if he v* again as I didn't stay around to find out. If it was a bug/virus. What could be the chances of me catching anything if it was?? I feel unwell at the thought of being there at the time. But I'm crying and having panic attacks at the thought I may have caught anything. Xx

Ive worked in nursing homes like that. And I've had experience with some one V randomly. And I can say that they can V for a multitude of reasons not just from a contagious sickness. I wouldn't worry too much. Just think people are working around him daily and not getting sick. Its scary but i think you'll be okay.
If you try and tell me a phobia is unreal. I dare you to live a day, and feel what I have to feel.

Elderly people tend to be on a lot of medications, it's very likely that it was an adverse reaction to medication. That being said, Noro is known to run rampant in places like nursing homes but if he was feeling well enough to sit down there than I'd imagine it was another problem.

My grandpa is in a home and I absolutely hate going there, I feel terrible saying that but it's true. That being said, elderly people are on a lot of medications that can upset their stomachs, try to tell your self it was probably that. Also, as long as you washed your hands before eating you'll be ok

My grandpa is also in a nursing home and I am always afraid to go visit. Usually it's easier for me between May and September. But for the other months, it's more difficult. I don't like saying that but it's me. And what I find sad is that I like being with elderlies. I have a diploma as a social worker specialized with elderlies. I did work with elderlies a few years ago (before having my children) but I did not go back. I had the phobia at that time but it was not as bad as it is now. So I hope I will be able to work enough on that phobia to be able to go visit my grandpa as often as possible before he goes...
