Default Visiting family that was recently sick?

    Hello everyone!

I have a conundrum and I'm wondering what you guys would do. I don't want to put myself in "danger" but I don't want to be unreasonable either.

My parents (who live in a different state) are renting a house a couple hours away from us. I was hoping my son and I would go spend a few days with them. Well, while they were on their way up there, a week ago today, my dad got super sick. He spent one miserable night getting sick (repeatedly ) and then still felt pretty crummy for several more days. I'm hoping to go up there on Wednesday of this week to stay with them for a couple days - so approx 9-10 days after his symptoms started. Does this sound safe to you guys? My mom was with him the whole time and hasn't gotten sick at all so maybe it wasn't something that was contagious anyway??

What would yo duo?? I'll be taking my two year old with me if I go and I'd hate for either of us to get sick.

Was he sick at the house or before he got there? If he wasn't even sick at the house you'll be perfectly fine. If he was sick at the house I'd just make sure she wash your hands before eating and when you leave

He was sick at the house. I'm going to beg my mom to clean the whole place with bleach before we get there. I always wash my hands a ton in these types of situations but its a lot harder to get my toddler to do the same. I'm guessing that he was mostly sick in their bathroom which is upstairs so maybe we'll just try not to go up there (our room is in the basement).

I think the fact that your mom didn't catch it means that it either wasn't contagious or that she cleaned up really well. Both options mean you're set and should go. Let's be realistic , if your mom has been sharing a bathroom with your dad since his illness and she made it through healthy, you are safe to visit.

Don't let fear take a great family visit away from you. I know I'd be really nervous if I were you, but logically I think the risk is really low.
