Default Will this be a repeat of last year?

Hi, first of all I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, I wasn't sure which one I should use. I'm having a bit of an issue at the moment. First of all, if any of you remember me, I posted here last year around Christmas (under a different user) with a horrible incident where my sister got sick at DisneyWorld and I was pretty much trapped in the same hotel room and using the same bathroom as her for the entire rest of the vacation. I never responded back to the replies, sorry! But somehow I never ended up catching whatever she had and surprisingly no one else in the family did either.
Any who, fast forward a year later and I've gone through an extreme amount of anxiety and panic issues, not just with emetophobia unfortunately, and have been to 3 counselors as well as being put on medication. I have calmed down incredibly, and up until this point my emetophobia has been under control with no scares.
So today, I'm starting my daily morning routine and my sister texts me from school (I'm out of high school but haven't enrolled in college yet, while my sister is a junior in high school) saying that a boy next to her in class v***** all over himself and some got onto her backpack. Great. Now I've gotten myself into panic mode and am completely paranoid my sister will catch whatever it was and it will end up spreading throughout the house like wildfire. My sister came home right after it happened and immediately ran into the shower and my Mom wiped down her shoes with Lysol and threw out her backpack. However, she still was exposed to the area for the rest of that class and had to carry her backpack out. I'm terrified and already feel nauseous, but do I have anything to be worried about? Or am I overreacting as usual?

I don't think she will get anything. your mom threw away the backpack, lysoled everything, she showered. I doubt she shoved her hands in her mouth.

I would react in the same way as you.

The great thing is that she showered immediately and your Mum threw her bag away, which some other families might not have done so you might all be fine. In the event that your sis comes down with it then you can still wash your hands and lysol II things and be okay/not catch it.

Make sure the whole family wash their hands before eating/touching their faces and hopefully all will be fine

Ps. I'm sorry you had such an awful time with your conditions, I hope things continue to get better.

Hi again! Sorry for the late response, but I'm very happy to say I not anyone in my family caught anything as it wasn't even a virus. My sister did end up staying home the next day, due to other stomach issues but was completely fine the next day and went back to learn that the boy had either been on some kind of drug or had been drinking. So, looks like i lucked out this time!
Anyways, thank you both for the replies, they helped me calm down quite a bit.
