Default A picture of what Emet does to me every year.

I thought I'd show you guys a photo of me in the Summer this year and then - photo of me a few weeks ago. This is what I have to go through every year. I'll gain a good amount of weight and will feel great. I'll eat whatever I want and have no worries about bugs. Then winter comes along and makes me a bag of bones again.

I thought it might help people who feel weird or gross about their current weigh loss due to the fear of being sick.
I'm thinking of going on a prescription of protein shakes to help keep me strong in the winter because I can't stand being this thin one season and then bulky and strong the next!

Bless your heart, try to stay strong through the winter. You're a pretty girl, this emet sure sucks. Have you sought out any treatment for it? I cope with mine fairly well with skills I've learned from Claire Weekes and the Attacking Anxiety and Depression ( Lucinda Bassett).

I am in a similar situation. I did lose a lot of weight. I don't like being skinny like I am now. It's really hard to live with that fear each day...
    Take care Cathy

For what it's worth, I just wanted to stop by and say that I think you look beautiful in both pictures. I suffered from anorexia for years as a teen after contracting a viral infection as a child which made me lose an awful lot of weight. I was a walking skeleton for years and hated the sight of it, touching any of my bones would make me break down to tears, I couldn't stand the sight or the feel of it, despite it being a natural part of my body, and everybody's body for that matter. Finally, after years of battling and building up my diet, getting to a healthy weight and maintaining it was a great achievement in my eyes, but I did always worry about getting ill again, in case I lost the weight like before, not eating properly certainly doesn't help. It happened several times actually, I went back down to that dangerously low weight from not eating more than I burnt off through work.

Anyway, I wanted to add my thanks for you sharing this, it is comforting to know that I'm not alone in having been affected by emet in this way. Hope you're well
