I have also heard about this, I doubt it's true, I don't think there is any preventative for avoiding a sv apart from good hygiene and avoiding sick people. Latest tests show that pro and prebiotics can't prevent or reduce your risk of catching a sv. I don't think your immune system plays a part in preventing the sv like it does with colds or flu either, it's down to hygiene, luck, genes, blood type and whether you are a non secreter (non secreters are immune to most noro viruses) the virus can't attach itself for some reason, its worth researching, it's interesting reading.

Yea I was really hoping there's some truth in it then when I actually thought about it the one year I didn't catch anything at all was like 2 years ago when I was pregnant and my craving was cranberry juice and I wasn't half as bad with hygiene and hand washing then as I would be now. Maybe il give it a shot have a couple of glasses a day for the rest of the winter finally some hope lol

i second this! There isn't much you can do but wash your hands and stay away from sick people.

Realistically if it was 100% true everyone would be doing it but I'm still going to try lol .. I also seen on "Google" some scientist in America somewhere are doing tests on jags like the flu jag to prevent it! I'm really not sure on that one lol but here's to hoping or maybe I should just stay off the internet

I tried that method in the winter of 2013 and it was another year I avoided noro. I wouldn't say it was because of the juice, my hand washing persistence most likely to thank, but it can't hurt either. There is a lot of good vitamin C in it that would build up your immune system and I think lessen your chance of picking up all of the gross bugs going around right now.

Funny this is here because just this week I started drinking it again and now it's actually giving me stomach aches I think, lol. Each time my stomach has started gurgling, sigh. And I drank a bottle of the Welch's 100% juice at lunch and now my stomach is cramping up like crazy. Maybe the 10 oz bottles are too much. Sigh.

I always say that there is some evidence that there are some ingredients in grape juice and some others that make infection and replication harder for norovirus, but the limited data has been gathered with respect to food processing equipment, not people. That being said, it may be somewhat useful...or not we just don't have scientific evidence one way or the other. We can know that it will not hurt you unless you are: 1) Diabetic....this is a serious source of sugar, even if it has no sugar added, the stuff is naturally loaded with sugar, so best avoided by diabetics 2) Have problems with tooth decay-this could apply potentially to everyone- so if this is a big problem for you, it may be best avoided. If not, you should at least follow up grape juice with plenty of water or rinse your mouth thoroughly after you drink it, particularly before bed or a nap. 3) Trying to lose weight/counting carbs-see above a BIG source of sugar. If you take some precautions and/or none of these apply to you, it might be worth a try if you like it and it makes you feel better. I wouldn't nescessarily start a grape juice habit because of emet/noro.
