Default Feeling nauseous in morning cause hungry?

    Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone else gets this/can shed some light on it.

Lately I've noticed quite often I'll wake up and feel fairly nauseous in the mornings. I've heard before that if you're hungry you can feel nauseous as a side effect is this true? As of late I've been trying to have my dinner around 6-7pm and then not really eat anything until breakfast the following morning. As I've noticed in the past that if I eat too late and then go to bed it can sometimes end up making me feel quite sick (not always though).

So because of this I think my stomach is really hungry in the mornings, thus causing nausea when I first wake up.

Am I right in thinking hunger can cause this? Does anyone else get this?

    Thanks

omg yes I get this for almost a year now! I just feel acidy. I chalk it up to my stomach being empty so I force a handful or two of chex of cheerios, dry. That usually helps most days. Then I bring crackers or soy crisps to work and nibble those at about 10am. It is pretty common from acid buildup and I wouldn't worry. Try my trick. Oh, and also drink a glass of water to help.

Yeah, I get the same thing some mornings. Lately, it's been happening after I've eaten dinner or lunch though. Kinda strange. I'll feel pretty full, and then suddenly I'll feel that hunger-nausea thing. I think like mentioned above, it's the acid in the stomach. I may try antacids in the evenings and see if it helps. I'll let you know if it does!

When I read this I literally said out loud "THIS IS ME" never have I been able to identify with anyone like me. I feel extremely sick in the mornings. It's usually because I haven't eaten since like 6 or 7 the night before. The problem is sometimes I feel so bad (and I think in the reality part of my brain- that I am hungry) but my nerves get the best of me and I don't eat until it passes because I am afraid I will get sick. Hence why we are all probably thinner then we should be because the first thing we all do when we get super nervous is stop eating. Can I ask this - sorry it's kind of gross but I go through the hunger thing a lot. I get caught up on the feeling in my stomach and if I am sick or not and so I don't eat a lot. So when I do eat I get HORRIBLE gas pains? My whole gut is super screwed up... is that just me?

Thank you everyone for your replies! It's nice to know it isn't just me suffering with this.

Acarl5- I actually get exactly that too! For the last few weeks after eating I've suffered with horrible gas pains, but I've learnt to just deal with them. Peppermint tea sometimes helps me

When you're anxious the stomach produces more acid, Ill bet that is it. I do it too. Prilosec helps me a lot.. I take it first thing before eating.

That is god to know horsewoman - I have TERRIBLE acid reflux! A lot with a lot of other symptoms that probably have to do with all the anxiety I have all the time.
