    Hi guys, it's Mike again.

I donno if any of you remember my old post when I first came here, but I
    forgot to mention one experience:

It was a year and a half ago, and my friend asked me to go up to the
mountains with him and his family.

We were both 15, his little brother was 11, and his youngest brother was
    8. Unfortunately we were taking the truck up to the mountain, not the
suburban. So, if you can imagine 4 kids, and 2 parents in a 5 passenger
truck, it was very uncomfortable. Thankfully there was a middle seat
between the driver and passenger up front for the 8 year old.

Before we left for the trip from there house down the mountain, I asked if
we could go to the Seven Eleven and buy some motion sickness medicine
for trips. I was mainly worried about myself, as I get headaches (no v*,
just nausea) on long trips, especially windy roads on mountains. So I
took some and we were off. I began to get a headache, so my friends
mom let me sit up front. Next thing you know, the mom asks me if I
would give the 8 year old some medicine too, as he gets motion sickness.
I began to freak out. I politely covered up my phobia by insisting that the
mom should sit up front. But she wouldn't let me.

Then the bad happened. . the 8 year old boy next RIGHT smack dab next
to me began to tell us he felt nautious. And right there, he bent over ME
    and gagged, but didn't v*.

Okay, so if you think this is gross for a normal person, imagine how hard
    it is for an emet.

I told the dad to pull the truck over IMMEDIATELY. I didn't care. We were
still slowing down and I opened the door to step out. I got out and went
behind the car 20 yards or so away from the truck. 5 minutes later I
came back to the truck, extremely embarrassed, and asked that I sit in
    the back. They let me.

Then, as if it was bad enough, he actually v*d. Up front with a paper bag.
The guys in the back were making jokes like "ewwww, smells gross." As I
saw him do it, I turned away and plugged my ears. We pulled over, and
the kid got out to do it some more. I began to hyperventilate as I was out
    of the truck too.

He almost v*d again when we were at the snowboarding resort too. This
is how freaked out I get and embarrassed I get when my emet kicks in
    and I have a panic/anxiety attack.

Anyone had this type of experience before?

Also, this next experience happened literally two days ago. I sit at the
front of my geometry class, and the very, very large kid behind me told
me he ate an ENTIRE thing of icecream and that he thought he was gonna
b*. I got freaked out. I asked him if he really felt that way, and I couldn't
tell if he was serious or not, or if he just ate too much. So I went up to
my geometry teacher and whispered to him that the guy behind me was
feeling sick and that I don't do well with those sorts of things, and I asked
if I could sit in the back, as there was one open seat in the back. He said
    okay.

You obviously know why i wouldn't want to sit right in front of a kid who
    says he feels like v*ing.

Anyways, the moral of that story: If you have a little panic attack, don't
be afraid to get away from it, because even teachers will give you grace
    like that.

Anyways, sorry for writing yet another novel.

    - Mike

    Hey mike,

Yeah, I think anyone in their right mind would have moved seats in
those instances. I almost hate to say it but there isn't anything wrong
with not wanting to be barfed on.

I am gratetful for one thing and that's that emetophobia seemed to have
been absent from my life when I was in grades 7-12. That's a tough time
to have it and for some reason I didn't hear about anyone being sick
during that time except for a friend who came in from out of town,
chugged a gallon of orange juice and v* in my toilet. That freaked me
out but I didn't know you could catch things that could make you v* at
    that time.

I remember a long, long time ago I was on a bus going to sleep-away
camp and a kid who I knew from back home who always got motion sickness
v* all over the bus. But for some reason that didn't panic me. I moved
far away from him and got really grossed out but we had just arrived at
    the camp when it happed.

I know how embarrassing it is.......don't let it bring you down though....all of us here certainly understand and know exactly how you feel....anyone under those circumstances would have reacted the same way...at least an emet would.....so you acted "normal" for that situation. K
