Exclamation Would this put me at a high risk? (Yes, it's one of those threads)

Been awhile since I've been round this place, but I just was up-close and personal with a SV (sorta) so I'm feel frantic and could use some kind words/advice etc.

I haven't seen my boyfriend in over a week now and I missed him, I love him very much and already felt badly for not being able to take care of him while he was sick

So we hung out tonight. We kissed, and now I am a little (a lot) scared that I may be at high risk for coming down with a bug. I hate feeling like this because I don't want him to feel like he's some toxic sludge around me or anything, so when I freak out about it or ask him questions, I feel like I am freaking out about him rather than the illness itself.

Anyway, here are a few fast facts:

-He felt sick Tuesday afternoon, fell ill Wednesday morning and v* 3 times that day, d* once. Still felt "out of it" Thursday, but no v* or d*. No fever.
-He was happy as a clam on Friday and out doing things with his friends by Sunday.
-Went to his house tonight, Tuesday, but only briefly. Did not use the bathroom there. His family seems to be doing fine, despite some members sharing the same bathroom that he was sick in.
    -Was not in his bedroom.
-Kissed several times, all pecks on the lips. Some saliva involved.
-Showered before we hung out, and uses mouthwash every morning.

I guess I am just paranoid, I have read online that it is contagious up to 2 week and can be found in saliva. Not sure if this is accurate information, as I would imagine more people would come down with this - but there's always that voice in my head.

Thank you in advance for any words of encouragement

Seems highly unlikely, even without the mouthwash....youll be fine

Not contagious through saliva, read my previous post regarding my family being ill MULTIPLE TIMES and how I've sipped from my boys gatorade bottles while they are ill, etc. and have never caught it. Norovirus can't 'stick' to saliva which means that it can't transmit through the mouth unless there is v* present. If his family isn't ill there's no reason to assume that you'd have any issue. You're safe.

Thanks for the response! I was thinking this, but wasn't sure. I know saliva is produced by a totally different system than what is affected by the illness and that it takes particles from v* and d* to get it, but so many sources including the CDC give mixed or vague information.

My only problem at the moment is that he wants to me to sleep over this weekend (I always do on the weekends, aside from last for obvious reasons) He's since cleaned the bathroom and bedsheets, but I'm not sure how I'm going to be spending the weekend in the same room he was sick in (didn't actually v* in the room, just spent all of his time there), or using the bathroom. It'll still be prior to that 2 week window.

I am not a fan of this time of year

(This is MY opinion and what ID do.) I would bring over a few things like bleach and clean it myself. That way I know it's safe. Or just a simple can of Lysol III and spray everything down.

Haha, I may do the Lysol III. I didn't think Lysol killed Noro or SV germs?
Luckily I don't need to use the same bathroom. There's another one close by that he doesn't use.

But I guess it's like, when someone is sick and contains themselves (my bf did that, he's really good with quarantine) when I go into the same room even days later, I feel like it's a "sick zone" and just being there will do something.

He's good with cleanliness (even moreso than me!) so I'm grateful for that.

Lysol III does. Make sure under Lysol it says 'III'. If you read the back it goes through millions of viruses but in the mix: Norovirus and rotavirus are included.

Hm. Open the door and window, that'd make me feel a tad bit better. As I said before, this is what I'd do. For all I know you might lock the door and windows and hide in the closet- hey, it could happen!

Oh thank goodness. I need to get me some. Is this a new product? I'm not sure I've seen it. I was always told nothing but bleach could kill noro.

I'm already getting a little freaked out, my stomach isn't feeling too well but I think it may be nerves.

not contagious. if you have a toothbrush there I would replace it bc it is out in the open near the toilet and maybe swap out towels. otherwise, no risk.

Oh absolutely not. I keep my toothbrush with me in my own room in a toothbrush holder and bring it over when I go. I'm pretty neurotic when it comes to certain things, toothbrushes being one of them lol.

    Thanks mdgirl!
