    Smile Am i really emetophobic?

Okay, so like for some reason I can talk about vomiting, about the stomach virus and say the words and not freak out. And right now, I'm thinking that hey, vomiting isn't that bad AT ALL!!!! and getting a bug isn't either!! it last for just a couple of days, and the vomiting only last for like 1! So, am I really emetophoboic?

I'm very similar to you - words never triggered me, I can talk about a bug and joke about it, and the thought of v* a lot of the time to me is like "what's the big deal?"
But the reality is... how will you act if you are faced with an sv one day? Would you still be in that mindset? Personally, I have been afraid of being sick my whole life so I know that I will always have some degree of this phobia, however maybe you are just a lucky one who either manages to control it really well, or has less of the phobia if that makes sense?

Also, this phobia is a lot like a roller coaster - sometimes there are periods when the phobia is all you can think of, and periods where it ceases to barely even exist. Maybe you're in the downfall of the phobia?

I agree victoria!! I am currently in a "bad period" where it seems to be everywhere, prior to this though I spent literally months not even thinking twice.

Words don't trigger me anymore (except when I'm feeling sick or having a panic attack) but I used to be so severe that when I was 6 years old, I would scream at anyone who said the word, "throw up".
    You are emetophobic if:
    1. You have an intense fear of vomiting or nausea or other people vomiting and it has lasted for more than 6 months.
    2. If it affects your daily life and prevents you from doing stuff.
    3. If you consider vomit your worst fear and you'd rather have anything else happen to you.
    4. You have panic attacks when you are about to vomit or someone else is about to or has vomited.
    5. You have a very hard time controlling your anxiety about it.

I have some time periods where I'm so petrified of vomit that I can't leave the house and I panic a lot. Then other time periods where I still need medication to stabilize myself but I can still live and have fun without worrying about it constantly and I only panic like a few times a year. Right now I'm going through another hard time where I'm depressed and I am so scared I can't leave the house and barely even talk to people or eat.
