    Default Ate takeout food!

So as an emet, most of us generally avoid eating out or getting take out for obvious reasons.
well my parents got a Chinese takeout for dinner (chicken chow mein, chicken curry and chips)
I just thought... Know what? Screw emet. I'm gonna eat something I like from outside even if there's a chance of me getting sick. I ate a plateful of a bit of everything.

I think all of us at some point need to take the plunge and realize it's okay to have a fear, but part of getting over it is taking small risks sometimes easier said than done, I know. Since I've been emet my whole life.
yes, I might wake up in the night worried about getting sick or whatever. But I'm going to keep telling myself it's okay. I don't think I'll ever fully be cured, but this is a great start.

Has anyone done anything risky or out of their comfort zone this week? I'd love to hear how you're all doing. I haven't posted in so long.
    Oh and happy Valentine's Day!💜

I've had take away twice this year for the first time in 4years. Im always worried I will get ill from it incase whoever prepares it isn't very hygienic. Like you I thought screw it, I want kebab and pizza... so that's what I had. I can't tell you how good it felt to eat food I love and not get ill. The last time I had it was the day before we went to see my partnerd son, I have ibs so it didn't help me getting up at 6am to make a 4hour drive to see him but it was worth it. I got up with mild d* and n* but I wasn't ill and will have take away again without hesitating. When I was about 8/9 I got fp from chinese (sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice) and haven't eaten it since but its but really put me off.

I eat take out/ eat out at least once a week. I used to never, but with my busy schedule its so easy lol I panic about it occasionally, but I worked in food so I'm semi-comfortable with it

crd08, maybe you can answer this question...when restaurants are given the health code grades, are A grades pretty much safe to eat at? I don't mind eating out, but I do occasionally wonder about the person preparing my food. Does an A grade mean the employees wash their hands regularly, or does that not matter...do these places just really clean up their act when the health inspectors come?

I don't want to derail this thread of triumph so if you think it would be better to PM me, no worries.

xKawaii, excellent job sticking it to the emet!! Feels good, doesn't it??
