    Default "Traveler's Tummy"

Is this a common thing to have when traveling from a cold place to a warm place/ I;m scared that I won't be able to enjoy my vacation next month.

It's a common thing for a lot of people, but it's not serious. We all having it in my family, other than my oldest. My mom and dad both get d*. I get cramps and often d*, my husband gets constipated, and my youngest gets d*. You don't feel sick with it, but your bathroom habits take a bit to get back to normal. Certainly not worth worrying over! Take some probiotics, Immodium and Tums if you are concerned. Seriously, we get this whenever we travel (4-5x a year) and it's no big deal! Going to a warmer place is ALWAYS a good choice! Focus on how awesome that is!!!!

Ok thanks. I've never actually had it before, and I've been to a lot of warm places during the winter, but this time I am going with emet.

Oh if it's never happened to you before I HIGHLY doubt it will happen to you this time! It either happens to people or it doesnt, so you should be good to go

It happens to me, especially if we're driving to visit family in upstate NY (but that's mostly my own anxiety about the fact that there's only TWO rest stops along the route we drive and it can be a 5 hour drive). Once I get there, my anxiety fades and within a day, my stomach rights itself. (although it took over 7 hours to get up there for Thanksgiving and my anxiety was THROUGH THE ROOF until we got out of traffic lol I thought I was going to jump out of my skin! no place worse to be stuck in traffic than the Tappan Zee Bridge lol)

I digress! You'll be fine!! have a GREAT time!!!

Over the summer I went on a trip with my boyfriends family to New York city and Boston. I felt a little funky about halfway through the trip, had some d* and just felt a little queasy, but honestly I think it was from eating out for every meal. Restarant food has a lot of butter, salt, sugar (all the good yummy things haha) but eating out every meal can upset your system. I ate simple foods for a few days and felt fine! If you're traveling within the country, I think any kind of digestive upset is caused by either eating out too much, jet lag, or just the stress of flying. I didn't catch anything and I was in major cities for 11 days! Enjoy your trip you'll be fine!
