Default Why am I afraid of d*?

I know that a lot of people are afraid of it because it associates with the sv*, but this is abnormal for me, especially because I don't get d* when I have the bug. I don't know why, but I get worked up when I have to go, and I know that it's just IBS or something, but I still get nervous. Is there a psychological reason as to why this happens?

    Maybe the discomfort?

I'm afraid of nausea... more so than vomiting. I can't handle nausea at all. I don't like the feeling, I don't like how confining it is as I can't function when I feel ill. Diarrhea is not fun at all. I would say it's the association with being sick, but you said that doesn't happen to you so I suppose it doesn't make sense in your case. Do you see anyone for counselling or therapy? Might be a good topic to bring up.

No therapy, my emet is not that serious, very mild compared to some other members on here, and I don't have much family support either.

For me, aside from the association with v*, one of the scariest things about d* is the loss of control. It's for that reason that I point blank refused to take a massive dose of laxative which was guaranteed to cause me severe d*. Even though I knew it wouldn't cause v* I still couldn't bare to go through with it because of the loss of control. In fact, several years ago now I caught some bug and had bad d*, but managed to hold it in for a whole day because I was so scared of actually going to the toilet (very sorry for tmi).

Wow I'm sorry for that! Could you be concerned about the loss of control? Maybe how it makes you feel? I mean, it's certainly not a fun experience. I don't so much mind d*, unless it gets out of control or it's so bad it causes my butt to be on fire (sorry for the tmi. We all know that feeling though lol). I'd definitely rather have d* if given the choice between the two.

silentfrog that's quite a feat! I can't imagine it was comfortable lol
