    Hi everyone

Just a quickie - whenever I help wash my young daughter's hands, I get her to rinse under warm running water (as indeed I do) but whenever my husband does it, he fills up the sink and gets her to wash her hands in the water.

Surely it is better to wash under a running tap as otherwise surely you are then putting your hands back into the dirty soapy water and putting germs back on?

    Just a thought........

    Hi Tracey,

Yes it's much better to wash your daughter's hands in running water, as that way the germs are carried away, it's also important that the hands are rubbed together thoroughly (with soap) and not just placed into soapy water. This is because it is the rubbing action itself which dislodges the germs and the water washes them away.
The frog has retired. Occasionally he reads PMs, when he isn't hopping around happily from one lily pad to another. He wishes you all the very best, and hopes that you find the archive of his posts informative.
