    Cool Hypothyroidism anyone?

I guess it's kinda ot.. But last week I found out I have a slow thyroid. In doing some research I discovered that it can cause anxiety and panic attacks.. Anyone else had any experience with this? I am hopeful that I will have less anxiety with treatment. I know it wont cure the phobia but it sure would help to feel better in general.

Those are some of the symptoms of it. As well as depression and a list of other GI track ones. Treatment is fairly painless and it should at least clear up some symptoms. work with your Dr to find the best plan and let him know your anxiety and panic issues if he doesn't already. Certain medicines are better for certain symptoms of hypothyroidism. Be well!

Hi, same here...the thyroid is a complicated organ. Make sure you get all the right blood tests first. Also, maybe consider going a more natural route to treat it. I went to an endocrinologist and she gave me a synthetic thyroid med...brought my levels down but I had horrible palpitations, GI issues, mood swings and depression, and she wouldn't change the dosage. I left her and went to a naturopath, who gave me a combination of freeze dried thyroid, sea weed, iodine, etc. that supports and enhances the thyroid, while the other meds basically destroy it and leave you taking meds for the rest of your life. Anyway, just my two cents. Good luck and pm me anytime!!!
