Thumbs down Anyone take Zofran before?

I'm weaning off Lexapro and the withdrawal symptoms suck. Long story short, I called my dr, told her I felt dizzy, had d*, and was afraid I'd get n* or v*. She prescribed me Zofran. But now I'm reading up on it on the internet (I know not a good idea but I like to know about the drug I'm taking) and there are things like:

    • Headache
    • Fatigue
    • Constipation
    • Diarrhea
    • Dizziness

Anyone have experience with Zofran and could give me some advice/anything?

I take zofran often and I think it works great! I get an occasional headache but it takes the n* away!

Hi, I might be too late, but wanted to reply in case I'm not. Zofran seems to effect people differently, but on the whole it is a pretty gentle drug in terms of side effects. I take it quite frequently, and the main side effect I experience is fatigue. I basically just get sleepy and a feel a bit heavy. So much better than being nauseous! If you're going to be taking multiple doses, it can be pretty constipating, but this seems to depend on the person and how their digestive system normally is. Not a big deal at all though, nothing a small dose of a mild laxative won't clear up. If you're just worried about getting nauseous, don't bother taking it for prevention, because then you will have to deal with being tired. If you actually are nauseous though, go ahead and take it! Any mild side effects you experience will be better than feeling nauseous.

I have taken it once on vacation and did not notice any side effects. I think the relief of feeling safe against n*/v* may make masked any side effects I may have felt but I honestly had no side effect.

I am one of the most sensitive people when it comes to taking prescription medicine and even I think Zofran was one of the best medicines the doctors had ever given me. It made me feel a little tired and a little bit of a dry mouth but I didn't feel sick or anything from it. I really wouldn't worry and I think the benefits outweigh any type of slight side effect you may get.

I'll take any side effect if it stops the n*. The only thing I've ever noticed is a little sleepiness, which I enjoyed because it calmed my panic then too. Love it, won't live without it.

How do all of you get Zofran? My doctor looked at me like I had lost my mind when I asked about it. He said it was "much more than I needed" and he is not opposed to prescribing meds but would not give it to me. It seems like everyone on here has no problems getting it though.

It's great to stop the nausea. My only side effect is constipation the day after. So you may want to drink plenty of water and eat some fruit or something with fiber.

I get it from my gastroenterologist. I have some stomach issues that can sometimes cause N*. She's very understanding about my "multiple needs" for the pills.
